Government Madhav Arts and Commerce College, Ujjain is one of the oldest colleges in the region. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the arts, commerce, and management streams. Government Madhav Arts and Commerce College’s admissions process is designed to be inclusive and merit-based, in keeping with the institution’s commitment to providing quality education to diverse student populations.

For Undergraduate courses like BA, B. Com, BBA, the candidate should have completed 10+2 from a recognised board. The college will take the marks scored in the 12th standard as one of the major criteria for admission. For Postgraduate courses like M. Com, MA (English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, History, Political Science, Sociology), the candidate should have completed bachelor’s degree in the concerned subject from a recognised university.

Degree wise Admission Process

B. A.: The Bachelor of Arts course at Government Madhav Arts and Commerce College is a three year course that provides an in-depth study of various humanities subjects. There are 680 seats in the Bachelor of Arts course at the college. Admission to the Bachelor of Arts course is based on the marks obtained in the 12th standard examination with a special emphasis on subjects relevant to the course of study.

B. Com: Bachelor of Commerce course gives a solid base in commerce and business studies. There are 540 seats for B. Com. Admission is based on the academic performance in the 12th standard, particularly in commerce subjects.

BBA: The Bachelor of Business Administration course is meant for students who wish to pursue a career in management. 120 seats are available in the BBA course. The BBA course is based on the candidate’s performance in the 12th standard examination. Preference is given to students who have studied commerce or business studies at the 10+2 level.

B. Com in Computer Applications This course is offered with computer applications as an elective. There are 60 seats. The course is based on the marks obtained in the 12th standard. Students who have studied computer science or related subjects are given preference.

M. Com: M. Com is a postgraduate course in commerce and business management. The college has an intake of 240 seats for M. Com. The candidate is selected on the basis of his/her performance in the bachelor’s degree, preferably in commerce or a related subject.

MA Programs: The MA programs of the college include Sociology, History, Geography, English, Drawing and Painting, and Philosophy. The intake of each program is 30-80 seats. A candidate is selected for the MA program based on his/her performance in the bachelor's degree in the concerned subject or a related field.
