Government Medical College, Latur Admission Process

Government Medical College, Latur (GMC Latur) is an international-class medical college, offering various medical courses with the stamp of approval from the National Medical Commission (NMC). The admission process of the college is rigorous and competitive with the goal of enrolling the most capable and worthy candidates across India.

The application process of GMC Latur typically begins in May-June for the August-September beginning academic year. Admissions at the institute are provided based on national-level entrance examinations, subject to the course. For undergraduate courses, NEET UG cut-off is considered, while postgraduate admissions are provided based on the NEET PG test.

For MBBS, 10+2 with minimum qualification from a known board with subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as pre-requisites are required. Postgraduate applicants need to have completed their MBBS degree from a known university.

For MBBS program:

Degree wise Admission Process

MBBS: GMC Latur offers 150 seats under its MBBS program. It is admission by merit of the candidate in NEET UG exam. The candidate must be 10+2 pass in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and must qualify in NEET UG in order to be eligible.

MS: The college offers MS courses in various specializations, including General Surgery (9 seats), Obstetrics and Gynaecology (6 seats), Ophthalmology (4 seats), ENT (3 seats), and Orthopaedics (2 seats). The admissions are done based on NEET PG scores followed by counseling.

MD: GMC Latur teaches MD courses in different specialties, such as Anaesthesiology (9 seats), General Medicine (7 seats), Radiology (5 seats), Pathology (5 seats), Community Medicine (4 seats), Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy (3 seats), Paediatrics (3 seats), and so on. Admission is via NEET PG, followed by counseling.

Diploma: The institute offers various diploma courses, including Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Public Health, Clinical Pathology, Child Health, Otorhinolaryngology, and Radio Diagnosis. Admissions are done on the basis of NEET PG scores.

  • 12th and 10th mark sheets and certificates
  • MBBS degree mark sheets and certificates (if the course is PG)
  • ID proof

, From some research on internet I found that Government medical college Latur is better than Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Government Medical College in all terms of academics, infrastructure, placement and all.
