The government polytechnic college, Purasawalkam was started in the year 1999 and this college is one of the prominent technical college in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) contribute to impart quality education in the stream of engineering and technology. Located on a mere 5 acre land the college has an enrolment capacity of 558 students and is headed by 19 committed faculty. Currently, the institute offers three full time diplomas and these are: Information Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, and Computer Engineering. The library is completely automated employing ‘MODERNLIB’ software and has reprographic services. In thinking about physical health, the college offers uses for enjoying sports and a good gym. The IT infrastructure is well developed, computer laboratories regarding various specialisations are promptly available. Further, every department has their respective specialised laboratories such as CAD/CAM, EDC Laboratories and programming labs etc, by such way student has experiences of practical sessions.
