Government Polytechnic, Sonepur, offers a range of facilities to its students. These facilities are designed to ensure that students get the best learning experience possible. The GP Sonepur library is well-stocked with books, periodicals and journals related to the various courses offered. The GP Sonepur facilities also include a cafeteria and a canteen to cater to the food needs of its students.

- Boys Hostel
There are separate hostels for boys with round-the-clock security. Boys Hostel- 180 Seated. Constant interaction with the guardians regarding the progress of their wards. Good quality of homely, Indian, and continental foods by the Caterers engaged by the hostel.

- Library
The library of govt. polytechnic, Sonepur was set up in 2013 and started functioning in the year 2013. It started with 2500 books. The present Library is built on an area of 2100 sq. ft. and is an air-conditioned building. It is furnished with modern furniture. It has 15 reading tables in the library for the users including the Book section, Current Journals, and Circulation Counter. The Library Uses e-Granthalaya Software for cataloguing, circulation, accounting, and acquisition of books and Journals. The library has services like an acquisition of books, journals, and micro documents, resource sharing among DAF units, publication assistance, and reference and reprographic service for the Institute members. The library is open for 12 hours.

10 Mbps Internet access is available in academic and administrative offices, laboratories, libraries, and hostels.
