Guru Gobind Singh College for Women (GGSCW),is a premier institution for women located in Sector 26, Chandigarh. GGSCW follows merit-based admission primarily, ensuring that full and deserving candidates enter into their respective courses. Most programs follow a centralized admission system, although procedures may vary slightly between courses. Usually, the admission process for a particular academic session sails during July-August. The college takes into consideration marks in the qualifying examination (10+2) for admission to undergraduate programs. For postgraduate students, merit is based on marks secured in the bachelor's degree.

Degree wise Admission Process
BA Programs: GGSCW offers BA programs with different specializations, including English, Psychology, Economics, and Sociology. The admission to the BA programs is purely merit-based according to the marks obtained in the 10+2 examination. For BA, there is an overall intake of 450 slots.
B.Com & B.Com (Hons): The B.Com programs are also run under a completely merit-based system. The college also offers 280 seats for the B.Com programs, including B.Com (Hons).
B.Sc Non-Medical and B.Sc Computer Science: For admission in B.Sc., GGSCW holds a centralized admission process on the basis of merit. The intake is 80 combined for B.Sc Non-Medical and B.Sc Computer Science.
BCA: Admission for the course BCA is purely merit based, which offers 40 seats.
MA Programs: GGSCW has MA programs in English, Sociology, and Economics. The admissions are on a merit basis with reference to the relevant bachelor's degree marks. Each program has 60 seats.
M.Sc Information Technology: Admission into the M.Sc (IT) based on merit with an allocation of 40 seats for the program.
M.Com: Admission in the M.Com course is also merit based with an intake of 40 seats.
