Haribhai V Desai College of Commerce Arts and Science, Pune Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

The Haribhai V. Desai College of Commerce, Arts, and Science, is a co-educational institution based at the heart of Pune, Maharashtra. The college offers education in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in commerce, arts, and science streams. Admission is usually done at Haribhai V. Desai College after the declaration of results for 12th standard for undergraduate courses and after graduation results for postgraduate courses. The admission process is according to the admission rules and guidelines of Savitribai Phule Pune University, to which it is affiliated. The application form is available at the college office or can be downloaded from the college website, and the candidates are supposed to fill it in.

Candidates completed 10 + 2 through a recognized board are eligible to apply for undergraduates. More or less merit is considered; the marks at the qualifying stage are considered solely for undergraduate recruitment. Application Process

Following are the steps involved in the admission process to Haribhai V. Desai College of Commerce, Arts, and Science, Pune:

1. The form for application can be downloaded from the college website or obtained from the college office.

2. Filling up of the application form with all details of personal life as well as educational background.

3. Attach following documents:

• Passport size photographs
• 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
• School/College leaving certificate
• Caste certificate, if required
• Domicile certificate, if necessary
• Other certificates or documents that may be asked for by the college

4. Complete application form and attach the requisite documents to it, and submit to the admission office of the college within the time limit as stipulated.

5. Payment of application fee as decided by the college will be made. 

6. The college would prepare a merit list after shortlisting applications that would be compiled on the prescribed criteria for individual courses. 

7. Such merit list should be displayed both on the board of the college or/and in the website, and the concerned candidates are encouraged to check about their status often.

8. The shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and counseling. The candidates will have to produce original documents for verification during this process.

9. Finally, after satisfactory verification and counseling, seats shall be allotted for the eligible students.

10. The selected student has to make the required payments and complete their admission formalities within the timeline to confirm the admission.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Com: The college offers an approved intake of 528 seats for B.Com. The admission to this course is on the basis of marks obtained in the 12th standard examination, with a preference given to the students coming from the commerce stream. Eligible candidates for the course are those who have passed 12th with subjects such as Accountancy, Economics, and Mathematics/Statistics.

B.Sc: The college provides B.Sc programs with a wide range of specializations. The admission procedure for B.Sc is strictly based on merit that includes marks acquired in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology during the 12th standard exam. The total intake for the B.Sc courses is 264 seats.

BA: For the BA program, with 264 seats, admissions are made strictly based on marks secured in the 12th standard examination. Candidates from any of the three streams, that is, Arts, Science, and Commerce, are eligible for BA.

B.Sc Computer Science : This course has an intake of 176 seats. Admission is strictly according to the marks scored at 12th standard level with Maths as compulsory for the course. Preference will be given to students who have done Computer Science or related subjects at 12th standard level.

BCA Science: The BCA Science program is also merit-based admission with marks on the basis of 12th standard exam, especially in subjects like Mathematics and Computer Science.

BBA and BBA Computer Applications: Both the courses have an intake of 88 seats each. Admission is done on the basis of marks scored in the 12th standard examination, with preference to students from the commerce stream. However, other streams are also open for admissions.

M.Com: The M.Com program has 60 seats. Admission is based on the marks obtained in the B.Com or equivalent degree. Candidates may need to appear for an entrance test or interview as part of the selection process.

M.Sc Computer Science: This postgraduate program has an intake of 60 seats. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields are eligible to apply. Admission is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and may include an entrance test or interview.

M.Sc Microbiology: The M.Sc Microbiology program has 48 seats. The eligibility for admission is a B.Sc degree in Microbiology or related life science subjects. The admission is merit-based considering the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
