Hindu College of Pharmacy, Sonepat Admission Process

The Hindu College of Pharmacy, Sonepat, is one of the prime institutions for pharmaceutical education. The college has been approved by the Pharmacy Council of India with a view to impart training so that the pharmaceutical industry can keep pace with change. The admission processes of HCP aim to select deserving candidates for pharmacy degree, postgraduate, and diploma courses.

HCP conducts its admission process as per its admission calendar, which is linked to the academic session. This cycle typically commences in August-September, with three current programs, namely: B.Pharma, M.Pharma (Pharmaceutics), and D.Pharma. Undergraduate admission requires 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics. Admission would be made purely on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The college offers 60 seats for the B-Phrama program.

M-Phrama Pharmaceutics Admission shall be based on merit according to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination as per the guidelines laid down by Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. However, preference is given to candidates who qualify GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test). The number of seats in this program is limited, thus ensuring individual attention to every student.

Application Process

The application procedures for Hindu College of Pharmacy, Sonepat, vary from one category of programs to another:

For B.Pharma:

1. Complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.
2. Check either the college website or contact the admission office for the application format and deadline.
3. Properly fill up the application form.
4. Submit the duly filled application form with necessary documents and application fee.
5. Wait for the college to publish the merit list.
6. If selected, get on with the admission formalities and pay the requisite fees.

For M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics):

1. Preferably appear for the GPAT examination.
2. Check the college's website for information regarding the application process and deadlines.
3. Fill out the M.Pharm admission form.
4. Submit the application form to the college together with the GPAT score card (if available) and all other prescribed documents.
5. Wait for the college to issue the merit list based on GPAT score/marks in the qualifying examination.
6. Those shortlisted should attend the further selection procedure held by the college.
7. Candidates finally selected should complete the admission process and pay the fees.

For D.Pharma:

1. Complete Senior Secondary education.
2. Register for the admission process run by the Haryana State Counseling Society.
3. Attend the counseling session determined by merit rank.
4. If a seat is allocated at HCP, report to college for document verification and admission.
5. Complete the admission process and make the fee payment.

Degree-wise Admission Process 

B.Pharma: The B-Pharma program of HCP has an intake capacity of 60. Admissions are made merit-based, according to the marks obtained in the 10+2 qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics as the core subjects. The total fee structure for the B.Pharma program is Rs. 301,200.

M.Pharma (Pharmaceutics): There are 15 seats available in HCP for Pharmaceutics program of M.Pharm. The admission is given with preference to candidates who have qualified GPAT. However, candidates are also selected based on a merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination, as directed by Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. The total fee structure for the M.Pharm program is Rs. 224,100.

D.Pharma: The D.Pharm program at HCP has an intake of 60 seats. Admissions are made on merit drawn by the Haryana State Counseling Society based on Senior Secondary marks. The total fee structure for this two-year diploma program is Rs. 114200.

The following are generally the documents required for admission:

  • Filled-in application form.
  • Passport-size photographs.
  • Marks sheets of qualifying examination (10th, 12th, Graduation as applicable).
  • GPAT scorecard (if any; for M.Pharm applicants).
  • Character certificate.
  • Migration certificate, if applicable.
  • Caste certificate, if applying under any reserved category.
  • Any other documents specified, if any by the college or by the state counseling authority.
