Institute of Legal Studies and Research, GLA University, Mathura, inaugurated a full-fledged range of legal education programs. The institute is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and has modern facilities along with rigorous academic standards. The process of admission to the Institute of Legal Studies and Research offers an adequate mechanism to select the candidates most likely to perform well in its different programmes and, therefore, to have a quality student body.
Admission to programs like BA LLB (Hons) and B.Com LLB (Hons) is based on the candidate's performance in the GLA University Entrance Test or GLAET, an online 60 minutes Multiple Choice Question test designed to assess a candidate's aptitude for legal studies. GLAET forms a significant part of the admission procedure and has emerged as the significant selection criterion for admission to these Integrated Law Programs.
Admission into LLM postgraduate programs follows a two-step procedure. A two-hour online MCQ test is taken, followed by a personal interview with the candidate. This multi-faceted process ensures that the best candidates for advanced legal studies are selected.
Admissions to the Law Ph.D. program are stringent. Candidates who apply for a Ph.D. in Law qualify either the entrance test conducted by the university for its Ph.D. or any national-level entrance tests conducted by bodies such as UGC or CSIR. Qualifying candidates have to appear before the departmental research committee through an interview wherein their research ability and academic qualifications are evaluated.
