The Institute of Science and Technology for Advanced Studies and Research (ISTAR), Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat, is a flagship constituent college. ISTAR provides a wide variety of postgraduate courses, emphasizing higher scientific and technological studies. Admission in these programs is done on the basis of candidate's performance in his/her bachelor's degree and can be accompanied with an entrance test or interview.

• M.Sc Industrial Chemistry: It has 90 seats and total fee of Rs 240,000.
• M.Sc Organic Chemistry: Provides 80 seats with an overall fee of Rs 220,000.
• M.Sc Environmental Science and Technology: Provides 80 seats.
• M.Sc Surface Coating Technology: Offers 70 seats with an overall fee of Rs 220,000.
• M.Sc Information Technology: Offers 70 seats with an overall fee of Rs 70,000.

MCA (Master of Computer Applications): ISTAR has 60 seats in the MCA course with a total fee of Rs 140,000. Admission would probably be on the basis of academic merit and possibly an entrance test or interview.

Ph.D Programs: ISTAR provides doctoral programs in some of the following disciplines: Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Zoology, Industrial Chemistry, and Instrumentation and Control.
