The International Institute for Aerospace Engineering and Management is a constituent college of Jain University, Bangalore, providing specialized education in aerospace and aeronautical engineering. The IIAEM has been founded in 2009 and is gradually becoming an authority in aerospace education. It admits talented students through a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses offered in aerospace and allied fields.
Admission by IIAEM typically coincides with the academic year and applications generally begin in early months of the year for classes to begin in August-September. The institute is open to taking applications on national-level entrance examination scores as eligibility criteria, and this depends upon the programme in question. Merit in qualifying examination determines entry for undergraduate courses while postgraduate programmes consider scores for entrance tests, such as GATE, JET, Jain Entrance Test and Karnataka PGCET.
The eligibility criteria differ from program to program. For B.Tech programs, candidates need to have a 10+2 degree with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. For M.Tech programs, candidates need to hold a degree of B.E./B.Tech in the respective field. For PhD admission, the candidates must have a Master's degree in the relevant stream.
Entrance exams are seriously taken into account in the admission process. However, for some M.Tech courses, the score obtained in GATE is considered. Again, Jain University has its own entrance exam called JET for post-graduate courses in various disciplines. Karnataka PGCET is also an accepted entrance exam. All entrance tests challenge the subjects and analysis skill that the candidate acquires in the particular field of learning.
Application Process
The application process for IIAEM is different for the programs:
For B.Tech programs:
For M.Tech programs:
PhD program:
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Tech Aerospace Engineering and B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering: Admission to both the undergraduate courses is based on merit of qualifying examination (10+2). Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics while pursuing their higher secondary education.
M.Tech Programs (Structures and Design Engineering, Defence Technology, Aerodynamics Engineering, Aerospace Propulsion Technology): Admission to these specialized M.Tech programs is primarily based on the JET (Jain Entrance Test) score and performance in a subsequent interview. GATE scores are also considered for some of these programs. The institute offers four distinct M.Tech specializations in aerospace-related fields.
PhD Aerospace Engineering: A candidate can join the program if his or her research proposal and performance in the entrance examination prove satisfactory. He or she will have to provide a synopsis of the proposed area of research and then undergo an entrance test.
