Jaipur Hospital College of Nursing, Jaipur, is a premier nursing education institution in Rajasthan. The college organizes a broad admission procedure for various nursing programs in undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma courses. The admission to the Jaipur Hospital College of Nursing is by merit and entrance test scores, thereby recruiting the most meritorious candidates for the respective program.
The college accepts two main entrance examination scores, namely, the RUHS Pharmacy Admission Test and the RUHS BSc Nursing examination, both sponsored by the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences. These exams are usually conducted once a year, with dates varying from year to year.
The eligibility criteria for admissions differ according to the program. Degree wise Admission Process
B.Sc Nursing: The most attended undergraduate course at the Jaipur Hospital College of Nursing. Students are 75 in number that are being selected for this course annually, mainly based on RUHS BSc Nursing entrance examination merit. The candidates are eligible if they have passed 10+2 science.
GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery): For the GNM diploma program, there are 60 seats. Admission would probably be based on the merit of the qualifying examination (10+2) and possibly further arise an entrance test.
Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: The other 30 students per year will be admitted for the Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, which is aimed at qualified registered nurses to upgrade their qualifications. Probably with assessment of their previous qualifications in nursing and/or possibly entrance examination.
M.Sc Nursing: The college has different specializations in M.Sc Nursing, namely Medical Surgical Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, and Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing. Each specialization has 4 seats. Normally, admission to these programs is based on performance on a postgraduate entrance examination and on the candidate's B.Sc Nursing degree performance.
