JK College of Pharmacy, Bilaspur Admission Process

JK College of Pharmacy, Bilaspur, has now emerged as a leading pharmaceutical institution in Chhattisgarh, India. The college, affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), has been approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and thus is authorized to run both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in pharmacy. Admission at the JK College of Pharmacy is handled in a fair, transparent manner seeking to enroll credible students from all over, if not all, regions of the State.

For the new academic year, the admission process usually commences in August-September. For graduate programs, admissions are based on a centralized counseling process under the auspices of the Directorate of Technical Education of the Government of Chhattisgarh, ensuring fair and equal opportunity for all applicants.

Regarding the admissions for postgraduate programs, the college might have a separate process upon consideration of merit based either on entrance examination types, academic performance attrition in the qualifying degree, and possibly an interview.

Application Process

The application process at JK College of Pharmacy is quite flexible, dependent on the type of program:

For B.Pharma and D.Pharma programs:

1. The candidates must complete registration for the centralized counseling process as conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chhattisgarh.
2. Fill in the online form on the official website of the Directorate.
3. Submission of application fee.
4. Uploading the required documents as mentioned in the instruction.
5. Choose JK College of Pharmacy as one of the preferred institutions at the time of counseling.
6. Report to the college for document verification and completion of admission procedures, once granted a seat.

For M.Pharma programs: Though specific details were not given, likely steps would include:

1. Check eligibility criteria (most probably, B.Pharma degree, with a minimum percentage requirement).
2. Register for GPAT (if applicable) or a college-specific entrance exam.
3. Either apply directly to JK College of Pharmacy or apply through a centralized admission procedure (if any).
4. Be present for counseling rounds or interview rounds if shortlisted.
5. Complete all formalities for admission if selected.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Pharma: The B-Pharma is a 4-year undergraduate program of JK College of Pharmacy with 100 seats. The admission is through centralized counseling for B-Pharma by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chhattisgarh. Candidates passing 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics are eligible to apply.

D.Pharma: Offered by the college as a 2-year program, admissions to D-Phrama are also conducted via the Central Online Counseling Division of the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Chhattisgarh. This program has an intake of 60 seats. Announcements related to dates and further information on counseling will be made in local newspapers and on the Directorate's official website.

M.Pharma Pharmaceutics: Conducted for 2 academic years and with an intake of 15 seats, it was unlikely that any specific admission procedure might have been mentioned; however, it can be assumed that candidates with a B.Pharma degree are eligible. For admission, applicants may be considered based on GPAT or college-specific entrance exam, followed by counseling.

M.Pharma Pharmaceutical Chemistry: Another 2-year postgraduate program, for which 9 seats are designated. Admission criteria are most likely to be parallel to that of M.Pharma Pharmaceutics, with a B.Pharma degree being a strong requirement, and consideration of GPAT scores or a college-specific entrance exam being a possibility.

Generally required documents for admission include:

  • 10th & 12th mark sheets & certificates
  • B.Pharma degree certificate and mark sheets (for M.Pharma applicants)
