JSPM's Bhivarabai Sawant Institute of Technology and Research for Women, Satara (JSPMBSIOTR) is a premier women's engineering institute. The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various engineering disciplines. Application Process

The application process differs for different programs offered through JSPMBSIOTR:

B.Tech

  1. Admission is done through JEE Main examination conducted by NTA.
  2. Register through state-level counselling process, probably MHT-CET for Maharashtra.
  3. Fill up the counselling form stating JSPMBSIOTR as the desired institute.
  4. Success depends on participating in seat allocation process based on the rank of JEE Main and other criteria decided by state level authority.
  5. If there is a seat allocation, appear for document verification and confirmation of admission at JSPMBSIOTR.

For ME/M.Tech programs:

  1. GATE (though mandatory is not indicated).
  2. Apply directly to JSPMBSIOTR or can be done centrally for PG courses in engineering to the state of Maharashtra.
  3. Report for additional selection processes that may be decided by the Institute.

For BCA program

  1. Inquire from the institute's website regarding the process for applying in particular for BCA program.
  2. Application form along with the necessary documents and application fee shall be submitted.
  3. The institute will conduct any selection process.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech: JSPMBSIOTR offers various B.Tech courses such as Computer Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Information Technology. The admissions to these courses are mainly through JEE Main scores. The institute has a total of 660 seats under different B.Tech courses. For Computer Engineering and Information Technology, there are 180 and 120 seats respectively, which shows the popularity of these courses.

B.Tech (Lateral Entry): The institute offers lateral entry into the B.Tech in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, each with 60 seats. The course allows a direct entry to the second year of the B.Tech course for the candidates holding a diploma or B.Sc degree.

ME/M.Tech: The postgraduate courses include ME in Computer Engineering and ME in VLSI and Embedded Systems Design with 12 seats in each course. M.Tech in VLSI and Embedded Systems Design (II Shift) has 24 seats. There is no specific information available regarding the admission procedure for the above courses. Most institutes use GATE scores for M.Tech admissions.

BCA: The institute has recently introduced a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) course with an intake of 120 seats. The admission process for this course is expected to be different from the engineering courses and might be based on the 10+2 scores in relevant subjects.
