Kamakhya Institute of Education, North 24 Parganas Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

The Kamakhya Institute of Education is the solitary institution of its kind in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. It is purely an institute for teaching education. It imparts co-educational facilities and is under the affiliation of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It believes in admitting students based on merit, which follows the rules and regulations followed by the respective state government. Admission into Kamakhya Institute of Education usually takes place in the regular academic calendar for West Bengal. 

Students are shortlisted according to the merits of the qualifying examination, entrance examination, or any other mode of selection to be decided by the state government. Generally, eligibility criteria for admission into the D.El.Ed program involve completion of higher secondary education, i.e., 10+2, or equivalent, from a recognized board. But certain academic requirements, age limits, and other conditions will vary with norms as fixed by the West Bengal government and National Council for Teacher Education.

Application Procedure

The Kamakhya Institute of Education application process is as follows:

1. Announcing Admissions: The institute publishes its admission through different media sources and its own website.

2. Application Form: The candidate should obtain and fill up the application form. The institute may post this online or make it available at the admission office of the institute.

3. Documents: The required documents, along with the duly filled application form, include the following:

• Mark sheet of qualifying examinations 10th and 12th standards
• Date of birth proof
• Category certificate (if applicable)
• Any other document that is mentioned in the institute or the state government

4. Entrance Examination: If so, candidates are required to appear for an entrance examination in the selection process.

5. Preparation of Merit List: The merit list is prepared on the basis of performance in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test.

Degree wise Admission Process

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): Admission to the D.El.Ed program in Kamakhya Institute of Education is strictly on merit. Admission is through marks secured at the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. As per the West Bengal government policy, it follows the selection process. With the intake approved to 100 students, it prepares future teachers for elementary level education for two years.
