Kashmir Tibbia College Hospital and Research Centre, Bandipora (KTCHRC) is a well-known college for studying Unani medicine. KTCHRC is accredited by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), New Delhi. The admission process of the college is framed to admit apt candidates to its Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) course, which is the core course of the college.
The admission process of KTCHRC generally follows the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) timeline since NEET is the compulsory entrance test for admission to the BUMS course. NEET is organized every year by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in general around the first week of May. The result generally gets declared in June, and then the counseling process commences.
Application Process
Admission to KTCHRC's BUMS course is a multi-step process:
1. NEET Registration: First, the candidates have to register and sit for the NEET exam conducted by CBSE.
2. NEET Result: Following the announcement of NEET results, shortlisted candidates are made eligible for the counseling process.
3. State Counseling: For Jammu & Kashmir, the state counseling committee is the Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE). The candidates must get registered in the state counseling process.

5. Allotment of Seats: Candidates are given seats in KTCHRC based on NEET marks, filled preferences, and availability of seats.
6. Payment of Fees: Candidates have to pay fees according to need after seat allotment to seal their admission.
7. Reporting at the College: Last but not least, applicants need to report to KTCHRC with original documents for completing final admission formalities.
Degree wise Admission Process
BUMS is the undergraduate flagship of KTCHRC. It's a 5.5-year course with mandatory one-year training. The college is approved to have an intake of 60 students per annum for BUMS. BUMS admissions will be exclusively on the candidate's performance at NEET. Shortlisted candidates should have appeared for 10+2 Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with at least a 50% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
