KCT Engineering College, Gulbarga, is an AICTE New Delhi affiliated college. The institution offers B. Tech courses under four specializations and has a streamlined admission process largely based on Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). The admission cycle of KCT Engineering College generally follows the KCET schedule. The aspirants are thus required to appear for KCET, which is usually held in April or May of every year, and the results come out in June. Thus, counseling occurs in July for seat allotment. For eligibility, the candidate must have passed 10+2 education from a recognized board. KCET is the entrance exam for the state level. It assesses the knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in a candidate. It is based on the PUC syllabus of Karnataka Pre-University Course. Aspirants should focus on the subjects and practice with problem-solving techniques and concept formation.
Admission Process
The application process at KCT Engineering College involves several steps:
1. Appear for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test, which is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority.
2. The candidates, based on their rank after the declaration of KCET, have to enroll for counseling conducted by the university.
3. While counseling, students have to opt for KCT Engineering College and a course as per their KCET rank and the availability of seats.
4. If seat is reserved, candidate should report at KCT Engineering College for verification of documents and admission process.
5. For candidates who appeared for P.U.E. Board and C.B.S.E. exam passed in Karnataka, eligibility certificate should be sought from the college.
6. For lateral entry admissions, direct entry to 3rd semester, diploma holders in branches relevant to the programme can apply under KCET lateral entry quota.
Selection depends purely and simply upon KCET ranking followed by available seat count of selected courses; and for proper, hitch-free admissions, counseling procedure has to be followed sincerely while the set documents must also be in a row.
