General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three-year six months full-time diploma program offered by Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council, Shimla and approved by Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Eligibility Criteria

The age of the candidate should be between 17 to 35 years as on 31st December of the admission year
The upper age can be relaxable by 5 years in the case of SC/ST candidates. Age, as recorded in the matriculation certificate, will be entertained.
Minimum Education.
10+2 class preferably Science (PCB) & English with aggregate 40 % marks from a recognized Board of School Education or its equivalent Board.
10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health Care Science – Vocational stream only, passing out from recognized Board underAISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
10+2 Arts or Health Care Science – Vocational stream only conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.
For SC/ST candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5 % marks.
Student should be medically fit. She should produce the fitness certificate duly issued by the chief medical officer /Medical Superintendent of the district.
Student shall be admitted once in a year.

Admission Details

Married candidates are also eligible for admission. Admission against 50% open seats and 50% state seats will be made based on the merit of the qualifying examination.
