Kolkata Teachers Training College, Narayanpur, was started in the year 2004, and it is a co-educational college of education. This affiliated college is spread over 2 acres in West Bengal and has the accreditation of NAAC. The NCTE-approved college offers three specialist courses in education. The enrolment of 500 students and a teaching faculty of 26 ensures that the learning environment remains focused.

In the college, course facilities are arranged to enhance students' learning experiences. A properly equipped library functions as a knowledge hub. All types of materials required by these budding teachers are kept available therein. The auditorium on campus arranges various events and seminars, etc., which helps to create a lively academic environment within the college. Medical facilities regarding first-aid are available inside the campus for maintaining the health and wellness of the students. The physical development of the students has also been taken care of by means of sports facilities within the college. It has a good IT infrastructure that caters to the modern-day demands of education. There are also departmental laboratories in the campus where the students get hands-on experience in their respective disciplines.

Kolkata Teachers Training College runs a total of three full-time courses, all designed to suit modern-day demands in the field of education. The academic portfolio of the college comprises a Diploma in Elementary Education, a Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Education program. Courses are designed in a way to help students acquire adequate knowledge and skills for successful teaching and educational administrative careers.

In Kolkata Teachers Training College, admission is done on the basis of merit, which is determined by marks obtained at qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests. Here, it simply means that admission to D.El.Ed. shall be based on a merit list prepared from the qualifying examination marks, or any other selection process prescribed by the policy of the State Government.A similar pattern exists for the B.Ed course also with an added consideration coming from University guidelines. Admission to M.Ed. course shall be on merit bases in the qualifying examination or based on the Entrance Test conducted herein, subject to policies of the State Government/University/UT administration.
