Hi Karamjeet,

There are no eligibility criteria for taking the GRE 2018 exam. The institutes where you would be applying to for further education will have their own eligibility conditions.

There is also no minimum percentage criteria for the exam.

Hope this has cleared your doubts.

Best wishes,

Dear Tamal,

Thanks for your query. To begin with, GRE and TOEFL scores are not the sole parameters to fetch a scholarship in any institute/university. The other important factors such as your GPA, SOP, LORs, TOEFL, Internships, Work Experience, Publications, Research/Patents, Projects etc play a role in getting you a decent scholarship. Even a perfect GRE score of 340 alone won’t get you a scholarship but having such a score might place you ahead in the applicant pool and thus prevent your application from being sieved out. US universities are more keen on selecting applications with prospects of research than those who wish to obtain a professional degree. Even when it comes to funding/scholarships, the applicants opting for research coursework are more likely to get chosen for funding than the ones heading for non-thesis coursework. Write a good SOP with all the required details and collect sound LORs to opt for financial aid in the US.

Hello

There is no specific eligibility criteria for GRE. Candidates aspiring to appear for GRE test 2018 do not have to fulfil any GRE 2018 eligibility criteria. Candidates can register for the exam irrespective of age and qualification. The candidates have to satisfy the GRE eligibility criteria 2018 for the universities and institutes to which they are applying for a graduate programme.

Best of luck

Hello Rohit.
The IELTS test is more widely applicable, for non-academic purposes, than the TOEFL or PTE exams. Generally speaking, the IELTS is more commonly used for admission to universities in countries such as theUK,AustraliaandNew Zealand, while the TOEFL is more widely accepted by US universities.
GATE score is primarily accepted in IITs, NITs, GFTIs and other private institutes in India, it has crossed the boundary to become an international level test for entry into postgraduate engineering programmes abroad. While universities across the world have their own selection criteria or acceptGREscores, some institutes in two countries-SingaporeandGermany--are known to accept GATE score for admission to their PG engineering programmes
I hope this helped. Good luck!

Your gre score is not the only factor for getting you admitted into graduate program. It depends on your overall profile which includes your goa, letter of recommendation, statement of purpose, TOEFL/IELETS scores, number of publications, research work and extra-curricular involvement as well.

Hi

GRE is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for most Graduate Schools in the United States. Even though a definite answer to this questipon isnt possible, I can assure you that with consistent preparation and practise, it is not a difficult task.

Ideally, a preparation time of about 3-6 months is sufficient for GRE.

Prepare a weekly and daily study plan wherein you have set targets in terms of topics to be studied and questions to be practised. For verbal, do new words everyday and practise various verbal excercises as well.

This routine followed religiously is sure to get you a great score in your GRE.

All the best!

Hi Namratha,

Before rendering apt answers, it is essential to know few details from the aspirant.

a) Subject preference

b) University preference

c) Course preferred

d) Current educational background

However, would provide you with some general information. Well, GRE cutoff score much depends on the department you are applying to and what exactly are they looking for in a prospective graduate student. Some institutes tend to value academic as well as industrial experience very highly, and they are interested to know about the courses that you have taken during your Bachelor degree, and if your previous training and experience are adequate to prepare you for the challenging Master's degree program.

Along with GRE, please note that learning the German language is a mandate for most of the German universities. Applicants are required to prove that they have sufficient German language skills at the latest by the beginning of the semester. Proof of German language proficiency is an admission requirement. Please make sure that you prepare in good time for requisite German language exams.

Anything above 310 is a good GRE score to apply with. Along with GRE, one must take up TOEFL/IELTS exam to submit along with the GRE score. Nevertheless, past academic record, Industry experience and Personal Interview is highly regarded during the admissions.
