The college caters to the educational needs of Malda District as well as the nearby districts such as Dakshin Dinajpur, Uttar Dinajpur, and even Murshidabad, keeping in mind the needs of the students the college has a dedicated Girls' Hostel (with accommodation and food facilities) within the college campus (named as Suchetana Bhavan). This hostel has got security services for 24 hours and strict discipline is maintained to avoid any untoward incident. Total seats in the hostel- 97.
The College Library has a very unique and rich collection of books, periodicals, journals, and E-resources (N-List). There are more than 27500 books (including reference books) and more than 32 printed journals and 6 newspapers. The libraries also have a good reading room for teachers and students with around 50 seating capacity.
The College has a separate Complex but the Sports Committee takes utmost care for the benefit of the students and also ensures the participation of the students in various sports activities.
The College has a computer laboratory in the Department of Geography which is enriched with about 8 computers.
The College has a canteen where the students can have their tiffins. Efforts are on to increase the number of food options in the canteen.
The College has a spacious auditorium on campus where about 200-250 chairs can be accommodated. Many of the cultural events and seminars of this college are held in the auditorium.
The college is proud to have a large number of alumni who are well established in their individual fields and this number is expected to increase manifold in the coming years.
The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.
The college has a laboratory in the Department of Geography which is rich with various surveying instruments such as Dumpy Level, Prismatic Compass, Plane Table, Theodolite, Chain and Tape, Mirror Stereoscope, Satellite Imageries, Aerial Photographs, GPS, etc. In addition to this, keeping in mind the new age of technology, a computer laboratory is also present in the Department of Geography which is enriched with about 8 computers.
The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
NCC stands for National Cadet Corps. It started at Malda Women’s College in 1977. It set the career of many students of the college. It gives the students advantage to nurture and manifest their individual physical and mental capabilities. At present, many ex-cadets of the college hold different prestigious ranks and positions in the Police force of different States. This branch of the college helps students in various ways by engaging them in campus activities outside the town over the years.
It is kind of small college. Mostly cause of having a small land. Otherwise, It is awesome college I think. Malda womens college is only college in malda which is only for girls. There are a lot of paper pens and xerox stores outside the college.
