Malla Reddy Medical College for Women, Hyderabad Admission Process

Malla Reddy Medical College for Women, Hyderabad, is one of the few select and prestigious medical colleges for women recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college offers undergraduate courses such as MBBS and a number of postgraduate programs ranging from MD to MS courses. The admission process at Malla Reddy Medical College for Women remains competitive, and various programs are admitted based on national-level entrance examinations.

NEET-UG is the entrance test for admission to undergraduate courses. The usual month for applying for NEET-UG is February, and the exam is held in May. Admission to PG programs is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduates (NEET-PG). The counseling usually takes place in February-March.

An applicant for MBBS must pass the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. Admission to MBBS courses is on a merit basis through the NEET-UG examination. In contrast, admission to postgraduate courses will be only after obtaining an MBBS degree from a recognized university and qualifying the NEET-PG examination.

Application Process

For MBBS:

1. Register for the NEET-UG exam and write it.
2. Qualify NEET-UG with requisite cut-off marks.
3. Apply for NEET-UG counselling through authorities notified (mostly state or central counselling bodies).
4. Seat allotment is done based on the NEET-UG rank and the order of preferences indicated by the candidate.
5. If allotted a seat in the counselling process, the candidate will be required to report at Malla Reddy Medical College for Women to complete document verification and other admission procedures.

For MD/MS:

1. Register for the NEET-PG exam and write it.
2. Qualify NEET-PG with requisite cut-off marks.
3. Apply for NEET-PG counselling through authorities notified.
4. Participate in seat allotment according to rank and preferences in NEET-PG.
5. Report to Malla Reddy Medical College for Women for document verification and admission process, if allotted a seat.

Degree Wise Admission Process

MBBS: Malla Reddy Medical College for Women, approved for a total intake of 200 for the MBBS course, will admit candidates for the MBBS course entirely on the basis of NEET-UG examination. The allotment of these seats shall be made to candidates through counselling rounds based on the NEET-UG rank attained by each candidate.

MD/MS: The following are the various MD and MS programs that are offered by the college along with their intake capacities:

  1. MD Anaesthesiology (10)
  2. MD General Medicine (8)
  3. MD Pharmacology (8)
  4. MD Anatomy (8)
  5. MS General Surgery (6)
  6. MD Paediatrics (4)
  7. MD Radiology (4)
  8. Other specializations with an intake of one to three seats each are: MD Emergency Medicine, DM Cardiology, MD Radiation Oncology, MS Orthopaedics, MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology, among others.

Admission to all the MD/MS courses will be confirmed through NEET-PG, with seat allocation through counselling to be awarded to only those NEET-PG-qualified candidates.

  • 10th & 12th std. mark sheet & certificates
  • In case of PG courses- MBBS degree certificate & mark sheets
  • ID proof
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Any other pertinent certificate as per the mention of the institute or counselling authority
