Prosthetics and Orthotics is a health care profession, which requires clinical and technological skills. The Prosthetic and Orthotic Professionals assess and evaluate patients, prescribe custom design, fabricate, and fit the orthoses and prostheses.  Prosthetic and Orthotic professionals provide service to persons with neuro-musculoskeletal disorders and disabilities. Their work also involves service delivery for the management of work-related disorders, podiatric disorders, fractures, sports injuries, disorders due to aging, tendinitis, musculoskeletal pain, aesthetic restoration, among others. Prosthetics and Orthotics Professionals play an important role in the comprehensive pre and post-surgical management of patients and promote community independence. Over the years their role has been significant in the field of humanitarian crises, competitive sports for persons with disabilities, and technology based rehabilitation.


Eligibility Criteria

Indian Boards -

Pass in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology from a recognized Board, with minimum 50 % aggregate marks or equivalent in PCB 

A level - 

  • Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the ‘A’ levels and English in the ‘AS’ / IGCSE / GCSE OR Two science subjects in the ‘A’ Levels and 5 Passes in the IGCSE / GCSE including English and third Science subject, amongst PCB 
  • The minimum requirement is an average of ‘D’ grade in PCB 

IB -

  • English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology 
  • IB Diploma or IB Certificate with an average of 4 points in PCB and an overall minimum of 24 points 
  • Minimum two Science subjects in HL 
  • Third Science subject and English can be at HL or SL
