MG College, Dumka Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

MG College Dumka is an affiliated college and is located in Ranishwar, Jharkhand, offering a variety of undergraduate programs on merit-based admissions.  The whole admission procedure of MG College aims to maintain an open system for admitting all eligible candidates. Academic merit is treated as the principal factor for admission to the undergraduate programs of the college. Students are considered on the basis of their performance in the qualifying examination, i.e., the 10+2 or equivalent examination. MG College offers 20 undergraduate programs spread across 5 degree courses, all of which are full-time programs. In normal circumstances, the admission process coincides with the academic calendar whereby applications open in the months after the announcement of 10+2 results. 

Application Process

The application process at MG College, Dumka, usually consists of:

1) Announcement of Admissions: The college announces the commencement of the admission process through its website and local media.

Degree wise of Admission Process

BA Programs : Various BA (Honours) programs are on offer at MG College: Political Science, Economics, Geography, Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, History, Santali, Sanskrit, Hindi, English, and Bengali. Candidate performance on the 10+2 examination is the basis for admission to these respective programs, which is considered relevant, depending on the specialization taken by the candidate.

B.Sc Programs : B.Sc (Honours) courses are made available by the college to the fields of Zoology, Botany, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. Applicants seeking admission to these programs must present a strong background in science from the 10+2 level. In addition to this, selection shall be based mainly on marks in either Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology, depending on the selected course.

B.Com Program : For admission to B.Com, candidates are evaluated according to their results in the 10+2 examination, specifically in Accountancy, Business Studies, and Mathematics.

General BA, B.Sc, and B.Com: As well as the honouring programs, MG College also offers general degree courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce. The admission process for these programs is similar, considering the overall academic performance of the candidates in their 10+2 examinations.
