MITS School of Engineering, Khordha officially known as affiliated college is situated at Bhubaneswar, Odisha and it was established in the year 2009. This is a co-educational institution affiliated to the A.I.C.T.E.New Delhi for technical education for the quality education. Originally the institute has introduced three diploma programs in engineering disciplines and total intakes of the students are six hundred. MITS School of Engineering has 28 dedicated professionals as faculties and the intake ratio for students is comparatively less. The diversity of the institute’s facilities and its emphasis on the application of practical knowledge acquired in the educational process is evidence of the institute’s concern for creating an all-round education for its students.

The campus also comprises hostels for boys and girls so that students from different states and even international students enjoy their stay in the campus. MITS School of Engineering has well equipped laboratories for each department so that the learners get practical and real experience in their fields. MITS School of Engineering was established in the year 2001 and currently this institute offers three full time diploma programs in engineering. Such programs are Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering among others. Each program is intended to establish the core of knowledge in a particular discipline within a period of three years. A maximum of 220 students per course have been approved at the institute, while the Mechanical Engineering course has the capacity of 120 students, the Electrical Engineering course has 60 students, and finally civil engineering with forty students’ capacity. This distribution is evidence of the institute’s aim at offering market relevant personnel in these fundamental engineering disciplines.

The admission process of MITS School of Engineering has been made very simple and convenient for any students who wishes to venture into the engineering world. Although specific entrance tests are not stated, most probably the institute uses academic achievements in specific school subjects to offer diploma courses. The ₹79,500 across all the three diploma tracks is also particularly advantageous in that students’ financial planning of their college or course experience is made a lot easier. The fact is that the scholarship information is not detailed; however, the institute could help the candidates who need financial support. The manager of MITS School of Engineering, Bhubaneswar said that the current institution fosters academic and industrial atmosphere as Bhubaneswar is emerging as an education and technology city. Being a professional institute that offers practical oriented syllabi besides being equipped with adequate teaching facilities, it has the ability to produce students who will be able to fit into the engineering markets after completing their education.
