Munshi Lal Arya College, Purnea Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

the college has about 20,000 books and initiatives are being taken to increase their number up to 25000 shortly. The committee in its meeting has recommended positive suggestions to make the library students user-friendly. Orders for journals in almost all subjects have been placed and efforts for computerization, internet connection e-library, Departmental Library, etc. are being made. The committee has also discussed the need for printers, scanners, and photocopiers in the college library.  

The college has been at the forefront of sports just like it has been in academics. Our students have marked their presence at university and state-level competitions. There is ample facility available at the college for indoor as well as outdoor games. Seminars, workshops, conferences, poetry sessions, etc. have been organized regularly at the college. The members of the “Arts and Cultural Committee” are always eager to motivate and bring forward talented students in arts and cultural activities.

The college has a big and well-equipped Air Conditioned Computer Centre with modern computers with the latest OS and software. All computers are connected by High-speed Wi-Fi connections. Students, Staff, and Faculties utilize the computer for their benefit. UPS is attached to each computer to tackle frequent power trips.

The College Lab is equipped with instruments for performing experiments of
I.Sc and B.Sc (subsidiary & Physics Hons). Though the lab is old modernization is much needed according to the current syllabus and the need for skill development and employability. For Honors level lab classes, the infrastructure is bad. Proposals have been submitted to the college for updating the lab. 

The College has one hostel for Girl students only. It was recently constructed with the UGC fund. It is a big beautiful and spacious girls’ hostel well equipped with all the required facilities. It is on the college campus itself. This was constructed in view of the Girl students who belong to far-flung villages/cities and could not commute daily to their homes.

The College provides free Wi-Fi to all its students and staff through “Saath Nischay Abhiyan” of the Bihar Government. The objective is to provide a free Wi-Fi facility to help youths to move ahead in life and to become digital smart. Students can register themselves for access through the Nodal Officer of the college. They can use it to download books, and journals, surf the internet, YouTube, Social Media, etc. To tackle the problem of frequent power cut and save power, rooftop solar panels are installed and it supplies uninterrupted power supply to the server room.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.
