Nanasaheb Mahadik Polytechnic Institute, Sangli Admission Process
Nanasaheb Mahadik Polytechnic Institute (NMPI), Sangli, is one of the well-known technical institutes in Maharashtra. The institute offers several types of diploma courses under various engineering disciplines and an organized admission process. NMPI is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is an affiliated college.
NMPI Admission process NMPI follows a selective process of admissions to the diploma programs that it offers. Primarily, admission is made on the basis of merit secured in the state-level Common Entrance Test (CET) for diploma courses in Maharashtra. The institute takes part in the centralized admission process carried out by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra.
Students who wish to obtain admission in NMPI must first take the Maharashtra CET. As a rule, the Maharashtra CET occurs before the start of the academic year. That means usually during May and June. Once the CET results are declared, students qualified under that will enter into the centralized process.
Basic Eligibility Criteria for Admission in Diploma Courses at NMPI: The student must pass 10th standard or equivalent with an endorsement of a recognized board. A course may have some special requirements about subjects, but mathematics and science are always compulsory.
Application Process
The admission process of Nanasaheb Mahadik Polytechnic Institute, Sangli is as follows:
1. The first step is to appear in the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) for diploma courses.
2. After the CET results are declared, on receipt of the same, register in the centralized admission process conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra.
3. The candidate must submit the online application form along with personal and educational information.
4. Append the attachment of several documents, mostly including:
- The mark sheet of 10th standard
- CET score card
- Domicile certificate (if necessary)
- Caste certificate (for candidates from a reserved category)

The entire diploma programs offered in NMPI costs Rs 150,000, which needs to be paid for completing the entire period of course.

Degree wise Admission Process
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: This is the largest program at NMPI with an intake capacity of 120 seats. The entry selection will depend on the performance of candidates at the Maharashtra CET and also on their 10th standard marks, especially the marks in Mathematics and Science subjects.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering: NMPI conducts 60 seats for the diploma in electrical engineering program. The admission process is the same as that in the case of Mechanical Engineering Diploma with an emphasis on CET score and 10th standard performance in relevant subjects.
Diploma in Computer Engineering: With the intake of 60 students, this program also takes up the standard admission procedure based on CET performance and academic record.
Diploma in Civil Engineering: NMPI has 60 seats for the diploma in Civil Engineering. The candidates are selected based on their CET rank and academic performance in 10th standard, especially in Mathematics and Science.
Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering: This course has a relatively small intake of 30 seats. The admission process is similar to other diploma courses, which is based on CET scores and merit.
