NIIFT Mohali Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

Dedicated to fashion and textile education, Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Mohali, is one of the premier institutes in India, NIIFT Mohali presently provides various specialized courses in fashion designing, textile designing, and garment construction. Admission in this institute is privileged for those students with a flair for fashion and creativity, hence the aptitude and skills of the students will influence their enrollment in the programs. Typically, NIIFT Mohali will conduct admission for its undergraduate and postgraduate programs once a year. A comprehensive selection process including a Written Entrance Test, Situation Tests, and Interviews for undergraduate programs will apply, while admissions for postgraduate programs will base solely on qualifying examination merit and interviews. Written Entrance Test, Situation Test, and Interview will constitute the admission process for B.Sc. Fashion Design and B.Sc. Textile Design undergraduates. There will be merit-based seats allotment on performance in all these stages.

Application Process

There are slightly different application processes for undergraduate and postgraduate courses available at NIIFT Mohali:

For B.Sc. Fashion Design and B.Sc. Textile Design:
1. Obtain the application form via the institute's website or in person at the campus.
2. Fill it out providing precise personal and academic specification.
3. Submit the finished application form with relevant papers and application fee.
4. Attend Written Entrance Test on assigned date.
5. Those who qualify will be contacted for Situation Test and Interview.
6. The final selection is dependent on performance in all stages.

For M.Sc. Fashion Marketing and Management:
1. Fill in the prescribed application format from the institute's website or campus.
2. Submit the completed application form along with required documents and application fee.
3. An interview will be conducted for shortlisted candidates based on qualifying examination merit.
4. Final selection is based on the inter-se merit of the qualifying examination and interview performance.

Candidates should ensure that they review the eligibility criteria of their chosen program highly clearly before applying. A well-structured foundation in creative subjects coupled with a passion for fashion would be a strong foundation for undergraduate programs. Postgraduate applicants will need to have an appropriate bachelor's degree and a good understanding of the industry as well.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc. Fashion Design: This is a three-year undergraduate program with an intake of 60 students. The admission process involves a Written Entrance Test, followed by a Situation Test and an Interview. Candidates are selected based on their performance in all these stages, with seats allotted on a merit basis.

B.Sc. Textile Design: This is a similar three-year course that has a provision similar to Fashion Design. Again, 60 students are on board for this. The admission process is similar-involving Written Entrance Test, Situation Test, and Interview whereby selections are based on all stages and merit.

M.Sc. Fashion Marketing and Management: It is a postgraduate programme for 30 students. Similar to the undergraduate courses, this programme does not need an entrance test. Admission will be granted based on the inter-se merit of the qualifying examination and a personal interview. Candidates who are in their final year of the qualifying degree can also apply. 

Required documents usually include:

• Mark sheets of qualifying examinations 10th, 12th, and graduation as applicable.

• Domicile certificate (if required)
• Any other relevant certificates or documents as listed by the institute.
