Libraries act as the fountains of knowledge which seek to edify and facilitate the learning process by providing learning resources for research and reference. The Bachelors in Library and Information Sciences program is a 1-year under-graduate training program which is centred towards imparting the fundamentals of knowledge relating to libraries and information sciences. The program also goes on to develop unique skillsets and an the ability to navigate the digital and physical dimensions of librarianship. With the growing scope of the digital community, the program is uniquely designed to shape and develop experts who are effectively skilled to actively work in the areas and aspects of data recording and library management. The program focuses on developing a specified line of knowledge and expertise in the fields of library management, administration, book and journal procurement. The course develops within the students a broad and wide scope of knowledge in the various fields and areas of knowledge related to literary works. It also goes on to enhance the memory capacity of students, making them more effective and efficient in handling the day to day aspects of book procurement and library requirements. The faculty goes on to focus particularly on the development of the digital skills of the students which allow them to make full use of the various digital resources which are available for the students. As a way to shape and develop the practical skills of the students, Parul University is equipped with 17 libraries with academic resources which allow the students to be regularly and practically engaged all throughout their course
