Admission shall be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the state Government/U.T Administration and the University.
Pt. Hari Sahay PG College, Gorakhpur, is an affiliated college with recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi. The college has a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Education, Arts, Commerce, and Science.
Pt. Hari Sahay PG College follows a fair and merit-based admission process for all applicants so that deserving candidates can take admission in desired courses. The college will obey any rules which the state government and its affiliated university have for conducting admissions.
The merit of all the candidates shall be based on the performance of the candidates in the qualifying examinations concerned for admission to almost all courses. Such a practice is to give priority to good performers and those with a strong academic background concerning admission.
Application Process
The following are the steps involved in the admission process at Pt. Hari Sahay PG College, Gorakhpur.

4. Entrance Exam/Merit List: In the case of B.Ed., the candidates may have to appear for the entrance exam whenever prescribed by the state government or university. For the other courses, the college will publish a merit list according to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
5. Counselling and Admission: After this, the shortlisted candidates are called for counselling where they shall choose their opted course based on merit and availability of seats.
6. Fee Payment: Selected candidates have to make the payment of the prescribed fees for their admission.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Ed.: This course offers a total of 100 seats, and selection is based on merit drawn out of either the qualifying examination marks and/or entrance examination. Admissions under this course shall be granted as per the select process defined by the government of the state with the various amendments and by the council. Graduation will be a required qualification for admission to the B.Ed. course.
B.Com, BA, and B.Sc.: The merit list for undergraduate courses in Commerce, Arts and Science provides admissions. Applications are from school graduation 10+2 from a recognized board. The selection is on the basis of merit in qualifying examination (12th standard).
The programs covered under MA include Hindi, Sociology, Political Science, Education, Ancient History, and Home Science. In general, admission into such courses is based on the performance of the candidate in his bachelor degrees, i.e., graduate level score and respective subject considered for admission.
M.Com: Applications to be considered for admission to Master of Commerce are from candidates with B.Com or equivalent and will probably be based on the marks obtained during their undergraduate program.
