Punjab Institute of Technology, Mohali Admission Process

Punjab Institute of Technology, Mohali (PIT Mohali) is one of the reputed constituent colleges under IKG PTU. The college specializes in architectural education and acknowledges its recognition by the Council of Architecture; thus, students acquire high-quality education in this particular discipline. Admission in PIT Mohali is offered to an energetic and talented student body that aspires to become successful architects and contribute toward building the constructed environment of the future.

PIT Mohali follows the admission cycle of IKG PTU with respect to its academic calendar. Generally, admissions are declared in the month of spring for any academic year starting in the fall.

A candidate seeking admission for a Bachelor's degree program is required to have passed their +2 education from an approved board and must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. 5. Entrance Exam: Person seeking admission in B. Arch course has to sit for the appropriate entrance examination (NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 in this case) subject to requirement. Qualifying marks to be met as determined by the institute shall apply.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Arch: The Bachelor of Architecture course at PIT Mohali takes in 30 students. Admission is likely to be determined by merit in qualifying examination (10+2) and in an associated architecture exploration entrance exam. Candidates need to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in their 10+2 course and meet the criteria for eligibility prescribed by the Council of Architecture.

M.Arch in Built Environment: Admission to this undergraduate course is based on merit in the B.Arch degree of the candidate, followed by a likely written test and/or an interview. This postgraduate program has 20 seats. Admission requires a B.Arch degree from a qualified institution and an aggregate score in the range of 55-60% or a similar CGPA.

M.Arch in Architecture Education and Research: It is the same as previously mentioned; this specialty master's program has an additional 20 seats. The admission procedure is quite similar to that of M.Arch in Built Environment. Applicants may be given an edge if they hold B.Arch credentials and have a strong academic background in architectural research.
