Purulia Government Medical College and Hospital (PGMCH) is a first-rate medical college in Purulia, West Bengal. PGMCH is one of the top medical colleges and is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata. PGMCH has an extremely rigorous admission process to shortlist the best and brightest candidate for its medical course.
The only mode of entry into PGMCH is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), which is a national level entrance exam conducted annually. It is a standardized test to test the knowledge and ability of candidates in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and admits only the brightest students to the MBBS course.
For undergraduate level entry, 10+2 level completed with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects from the government board is required. Admission would be typically on or near the date of NEET exam which is typically held once a year. Once NEET results are announced, deserving candidates can appear for the seat allotment process in counseling.
Application Process
The admission process of Purulia Government Medical College and Hospital is very much a multi-step procedure:
1. NEET Registration and Exam: Initially, the applicants need to register for and appear in the NEET examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
2. NEET Result: After announcing the result of NEET, the applicants possessing a minimum score are permitted to move on with the counseling process.
