RCP Roorkee Admission Process

RCP Roorkee, a distinguished pharmaceutical educational institute in Roorkee, Uttarakhand is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) to provide multiple pharmacy programs. The college is governed by an extensive admission process to shortlist deserving students to its pharmacy programs at multiple levels.

The admission at RCP Roorkee is largely on the basis of the Central Admission Process (CAP) of Uttarakhand Technical University for B.Pharma and D.Pharma courses. For M.Pharma courses, candidates who have passed the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) are given priority. This way, the college gets to admit students who have an excellent aptitude towards the study of pharmaceuticals.

Application Process

The application process of Roorkee College of Pharmacy is different for different programs:

For B.Pharma and D.Pharma programs:

1. The candidates will have to appear in the Central Admission Process (CAP) organized by Uttarakhand Technical University.
2. Complete the CAP application form on the Uttarakhand Technical University official website.
3. Send all the documents such as 10+2 mark sheets, domicile certificate (if required), and other related certificates.
4. Pay the application fee as decided by the university.
5. Appear in the counseling sessions if selected, depending on the merit list drawn by the university.
6. Ensure admission by paying fees and producing original documents at RCP Roorkee.

For M.Pharma courses (Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Quality Assurance):

1. Attend the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT).
2. Apply directly to Roorkee College of Pharmacy or through any centralized admission process as designated by the college.
3. Produce GPAT scores along with other documents required, such as B.Pharma degree certificate and mark sheets.
4. Attend any other selection procedures, including interviews, if held by the college.
5. If accepted, secure admission by paying fees and furnishing required documents.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Pharma: The admission of B.Pharma course in RCP Roorkee is done by the Central Admission Process (CAP) of Uttarakhand Technical University. The course is approved for intake of 60 seats. The candidates should have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics in order to get admission.

D.Pharma: As is the case with B.Pharma, D.Pharma course admissions are also taken care of through the Central Admission Process (CAP) of Uttarakhand Technical University. It provides admission into 60 seats. Criteria include finishing education through 10+2, studying subjects specific to pharmacy studies.

M.Pharma: RCP Roorkee provides three specializations in M.Pharma: Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Quality Assurance. Candidates who have cleared the GPAT exam are preferred for all M.Pharma programs. Admission is through GPAT scores, and then through any other criteria defined by the college or university.

Documents required for admission typically are:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • B.Pharma degree certificate and mark sheets (for M.Pharma candidates)
  • GPAT score card (for M.Pharma candidates)
  • Domicile certificate (if required)
  • Category certificate (if required)
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • All other papers as indicated by the college or university.
