RR College of Pharmacy, Bangalore Admission Process

RR College of Pharmacy (RRCP), Bangalore, Karnataka, is one of the most esteemed institutions for pharmaceutical education. The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in a variety of pharmaceutical disciplines. RRCP's admission process is specifically designed to identify the right candidates for its six pharmaceutical courses: B.Pharma, M.Pharma (Pharmaceutics and Pharmacognosy), Pharm.D, Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate, and D.Pharma. Generally, the admission cycle at RRCP falls within the academic year; usually, that is August-September. 

Eligibility for the programs may vary. For undergraduate level programs such as B.Pharma, students need to pass 10+2 with subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics. For postgraduates such as M.Pharma, the required eligibility includes a B.Pharma degree from an accredited university. Eligibilities will differ for Pharm.D and Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate as well, generally requiring a bachelors' degree in the field of pharmacy or its related disciplines. RRCP is approved by PCI as well as NAAC accredited for the standardization of programs at the national level.

Application process

The application procedure for RR College of Pharmacy, Bangalore follows this process: 

1. Visit the authentic RRCP site and click the admissions or the application link on it.

2. Download the course applied for. Fill in all the details provided in the downloaded application form. 

3. Collect the documents required: 

  • mark sheets and certificate of 10th and 12th
  •  the score card from the entrance test, if performed
  •  Transfer certificate
  • Migration certificate for students hailing from other states
  •  Caste certificate in case one requires it
  •  Passport-size photos of latest clicks

4. To the college office, send the following documents along with a duly filled-in application form: In most instances, one may make an application personally or by sending it through the post.

5. Pay the application fee to colleges. The fees as well as mode of payment may be mentioned in college application forms, or from websites of the concerned college.

 6. Wait for response from the colleges to which one has applied. Surely you will either be asked for some additional details or be informed as to what steps would be taken on the next front.

7. You shall be shortlisted and called either for a counseling session or interview, depending upon the program and the college selection procedure.

8. After being selected, you need to pay the fee applicable and all the admission formalities should be completed within the stipulated time frame so that confirmation of your seat is done.

It is also to be noted that RRCP has diversified students in terms of its population. The undergraduate students are 67% from outside the state, while postgraduate students are 43%. This shows that the college is in high demand and is spreading all over India. Various facilities for supporting students, like well-equipped laboratories, a rich library, and comfortable hostels for boys and girls, are also available.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Pharma: The B.Pharma program at RRCP is a 4-year undergraduate course with an approved intake of 100 students. Admission is based on the candidate's performance in relevant pharmacy entrance exams and 10+2 scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.

M.Pharma: RRCP provides M.Pharma courses in Pharmaceutics and Pharmacognosy. These courses have a duration of 2 years. Admission is done primarily based on the scores of B.Pharma along with performance in relevant entrance exams such as GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test).

Pharm.D: Pharm.D is a 6-year doctoral program under the title of Doctor of Pharmacy. The admission is done according to performance in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics, along with scores in pharmacy entrance exams.

Pharm.D. Post Baccalaureate: This is a 3-year program for candidates with B.Pharma. Admission is through one's B.Pharma performance and other relevant criteria as sought by the college.

D.Pharma: Diploma in Pharmacy is for 2 years. Admission is made based on 10+2 performance in relevant subjects and performance in the entrance exam relevant to it.
