RVS College of Arts and Science, Tiruchirappalli Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

As face is the index of a person so is the library for a college. The Srimathi padmavathi Memorial Central Library has been built to International Standards with an area of 1250 sq.m. and now has a collection of 34895 Volumes of books on a variety of subjects. Specialized collections of Books, Journals, and Non-Book Materials are available in Basic Sciences and Humanities, Computer Science, Electronics, Commerce, Life Sciences, Psychology, English and other Languages, Business Administration, and Social Sciences and some of which are rare and invaluable.

A full-fledged Centre for Sports and Wellness is established for the students to get motivated with sportsman spirit. Exclusive playfields exist for a plethora of games such as Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis, Badminton, Cricket, and Kabaddi.

Yummy Tummy, a hygienic and well-spacious Cafeteria with a seating capacity of 450, functions on the College premises to provide an array of delicacies for Breakfast and Lunch including bakery items. It provides a variety of dishes at subsidized rates for students and staff members of the College. It serves abundant scope for students to refresh and enjoy delicious multi-cuisine food. A unique bakery unit is available for the students which ensures healthy and tasty confectionary items.

The College plies a fleet of buses separately for students and staff to commute. Buses are equipped with all safety devices like Fire Extinguishers, First-aid Kits, etc. The college provides transportation to different locations in and around Coimbatore and Tirupur districts. This transport facility is also used for various co-curricular/extracurricular/recreational activities such as field trips, environmental visits, industrial visits, and recruitments.

The college has advanced laboratories in multiple disciplines including Computer Science Electronics Biochemistry Microbiology Biotechnology food and Nutrition.

The gym is another central facility that is functioning on the college premise. The college gym is fully equipped with essential fitness equipment.

There are five conference halls/auditoriums with ample seating capacity to conduct seminars, symposiums, conferences, meetings, etc. There is a 1000 seater auditorium named ‘Kalam’ hall for the conduct of all cultural festivals and college functions.

The college hostel is absolutely guarded by 24/7 security services. Acute CCTV surveillance is provided to guarantee high security in the hostel premises. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The Internet connection is distributed across the college through Wi-Fi networks. The coverage of Wi-Fi is not restricted to classrooms and it extends to all areas including libraries, conference halls, cafeterias, and hostels. Eventually, it enables RVSCAS to switch over to innovative and modern teaching and learning methodologies. The Wi-Fi system has been functioning with 200 Mbps (1:1) leased line connectivity provided by Airtel. As Wi-Fi security is an area of concern, the internet is secured with the firewall, and web access is monitored by the CISCO ASA 5505 Server.

The college has a health care center with a first facility for the students.
