Seedling School of Law and Governance, Jaipur Admission Process

Seedling School of Law and Governance, Jaipur, is a very reputable institution providing all-round legal education. The college, which is affiliated with Jaipur National University, is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and hence provides guarantee of its courses being up to national standards. Seedling School of Law and Governance admission process is directed towards the selection of the best possible candidates for its different courses in law.

Admission to the institute is taken largely on the basis of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) which is India's national entrance exam for law courses. CLAT is conducted every year in the month of December and counseling between December 25 to January 3 of the next year. Students need to appear for CLAT and have a valid score for being eligible to apply for most of the courses offered in the institute.

Apart from CLAT scores, the institute also carries out its own Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) for some programmes. The whole selection process ensures that candidates not only have the required academic qualifications but also analytical skills and communication skills, which are required for a successful legal career.

Application Process

The Seedling School of Law and Governance, Jaipur, has its own application process for its own different programs but mostly takes the following steps:

1. CLAT Registration and Examination: One needs to register and appear for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) in the first place. The date of the CLAT exam is typically in December, on which results are declared soon after.

2. Institute Application: Once they obtain the CLAT scores, candidates are required to apply to Seedling School of Law and Governance directly. The application form tends to be uploaded on the institute's official website.

3. Entrance Test: For courses such as BBA LLB (Hons) and BA LLB, candidates can be required to sit for an additional Written Ability Test administered by the institute.

4. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates are invited for a Personal Interview. This is an important step in the selection process for all programs.

5. Preparation of Merit List: On the basis of CLAT performance, the institute's entrance test (wherever applicable), and the Personal Interview, a merit list is prepared.

6. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are required to submit required documents for verification. These usually include:

  • CLAT score card
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
  • Graduation mark sheets (for LLB and LLM courses)
  • Category certificates (if any)
  • Character certificate
  • Migration certificate
  • Recent passport-size photographs

7. Fee Payment: After successful document verification, candidates need to pay the required fees to secure their admission.

8. Orientation and Classes Commence: Admitted students are generally called for an orientation program, following which regular classes commence.

Degree wise Admission Process

BBA LLB (Hons): It is a five-year integrated course with an approved intake of 120 seats. Admission involves Entrance Test, Personal Interview, and CLAT scores. It is a combination of business administration and law and hence it is most suitable for those who desire to do corporate law.

BA LLB: Another five-year integrated course, the BA LLB admission is carried out on the basis of an Entrance Test, Personal Interview, and legitimate CLAT scores. The course combines arts subjects with law to give a good balanced legal education.

LLB: A three-year course for graduates of other streams who desire to make a career in law. The admission is carried out on Merit, Personal Interview, and genuine CLAT scores.

LLM: For postgraduate legal programs, the admission to the LLM program is on the merit and Personal Interview basis. The program duration is one year, and it enables students to specialize in certain fields of law.

Ph.D. Law:  On the Ph.D. program admission, it is generally on the merit of a competitive selection process based on entrance tests and interviews.
