The infrastructure is above average here. There is no centralized AC in the classrooms. There is a single combined large sports complex in front of the college. The campus has the wi-fi facility for the students. Labs are properly equipped and well maintained. The library is also above average and is updated once a while and offers a large number of books for students. Hostel facility is not provided to the students. There is one canteen and one bru cafe outlet on the campus.
I'm pursuing B.sc honors from the maths stream here. Faculty here is kind of mixed. There are some good teachers with plenty of experience while some lack the art of teaching. One of the major good things here is that higher authorities are easily approachable here. There are few professors from IIT here. Faculty here is very polite and friendly, they always hear your doubts and try to resolve them.
Placement criteria of the college is below average. Placement cell does not show much efforts in bringing the companies to the campus. Only two or three companies visit the college for placements and the average package is 3 to 4 lakhs per annum. The companies which visited the campus this semester were Vivo, Naukari.com , HCL , etc. The lowest package offered was 3 lakhs per annum.
The course which I am pursuing cost me around 24,000Rs. The students who come from outside the state have to go for PG which costs around 1 LPA. Overall the value for money is justified as we get enough resources and health for the money we pay. Scholarship options are also available for the students to perform good in academics.
Campus life here is good as compared to other government colleges . Girls to boy ratio is almost equal and the canteen is also very spacious. The campus is very beautiful with plenty of greenery around. Seniors are also very helpful here and ragging is strictly prohibited in the campus. The college fest is very exciting here and we get to see many bollywood star.
There is no dress code in the college . And student can also leave the college during the college hours
Shivaji College is one of the most prominent colleges of University of Delhi. It is the best among off campus colleges. The crowd here is even better. Shivaji college has the biggest play ground in the whole university and also one of the biggest libraries. In terms of building we now have the new building and hostel coming soon too. There are computer labs, science labs, auditorium and everything one needs. And the lush greenery is of no competition with others and everyone knows that.
Faculty of the college is very qualified and hard working. All the teachers of my commerce department were so friendly and educated that it started feeling like school where every teacher would give you individual attention. Apart from this most of the teachers here are PhDs. and post graduates. Results of the college have always been excellent.
The college do provide placements. Though not all big companies come here to hire you but yes some big companies and many startups and well established companies come every year for placements. The placement cell also organises internship and job fair every year.
The fees is comparatively higher than other du colleges but still it is not much. The fees is value for money. College gives you the best experience in every terms. Not only academics, you get to know life and make amazing friends by being part of various societies and cells that are actively working in the college. If you want fun and study together, shivaji college can be on the top of your list. Plus you can visit both north and south campus anytime. It is not far from the college.
Campus life is very enthralling in the college. We have plenty of hotspots to chill at. Bru and mother dairy which is the favourite of all. Canteen is also there, backstage, innumerable gardens, principal's bungalow, C points, and the neighbouring malls are the places which may not look exciting to you now but once you are in the college they'll have your heart. And the speciality of rajouri garden, the whole road filled with cafes and lounges where you can go anytime.
Every college has its own speciality and so do shivaji college have. There could be some things which college is not having rn but there are also many other things which you won't get at other colleges. It all depends on you and your friends that how you make your life happening. My experience in the college have been a roller coaster ride. I made mistakes, had fun, danced, sang, made friends learned to live life and had one of the most beautiful 3 years of my life which I would cherish forever.
Shivaji College has all the necessary Infrastructure and facilities. It has a library, labs, sports ground, coffee shop and canteen. It has WiFi and smart boards are also present.Things are well maintained.Food quality is good too.
I am studying BA(hons)Business Economics .I always was interested in studies of business related stuff.Curriculum is industry oriented. It is a professional degree course. It covers all the basic requirements to get a job.
Placements are not so good. But studious and dilligent student can bag a fine placement offer. There is a placement cell in the college.Workshops are also held regularly on how to perform good at job interviews.
The college has nearly all the equipments that are needed. The college provides wifu service, library has variety if books and pretty big sports compelx. The food quality in cantene is fine. The campus area is also nicely maintained.
I am pursuing Economics course in the college as I have interest in this field. The course is up to date and contains all specifics as oer universitt direction. Some teachers are very much experienced and helpful.
The Placement cell makes sure that every student gets a chance to have an internship or a job. Various companies visit the campus and many students appear for the placement drives. However the average salary offered is not too good.
The course costs around 12k and is not much higher as compared to other college's fees. Thus it is of value to get this course.
The college is spread over a magnitude of area. The sports complex is quite vast relative to other DU colleges. However it is seperated from the campus.
I had a great experience being a part of Shivaji College and made numerpus friends over time.b
Obviously , it has an infrastructure similar to majority of " S A R K A R I " college has . Pretty much the same you'll find in new DU college. The same red wall of which people post their pics on Instagram is an official symbol of DU now ??
Excellent , high qualified , well trained teaching staff . When it comes to Faculties DU is surely the last one to compromise . You'll have the best genius minds from the entire country to teach you and that what makes DU Rank 6th best University in India
Shivaji college has the best Placement Cell which approaches to the maximum recruitment it can fetch. Well yes it depends upon the course which you're pursuing and the skills you have to get hired but Surely of you've tallents up your sleeves you won't be disappointed with what you get
Shivaji College has mostly all the requisites that a student looks for. We can avail Wifi services in the campus, nicely maintained rooms, among other facilities. The campus is satisfactorily clean and food is of decent quality.
I am pursuing my graduation in the field of economics. Our curriculum is annually updated as per the university's instructions and includes a lot he recent developments. Some teachers are very hard working & cordial.
The Placement Cell of our college is designated with the task to invite several companies on the campus (for both internship & placement). Many companies visit the campus often & select several students.
My course costs less than 15k each year. It is worthy to do such a valued course at this cost.
Our campus is spread over quite big area. The sports is complex is also huge (however, is separate from the campus).
In these three years at Shivaji college, I got to learn numerous skills and earn some precious memories. I will cherish these moments forever.
The ambiance is quite good, things it lags in are the proper insulation, improper studying environment, the classes are very claustrophobic and needs a lot of cleanliness. All n all, a beautiful place to study with a bit more to put.
Academically it's quite fantastic. Teachers are quite helpful, the inefficiency and absenteeism is an issue, the curriculum so far includes everything it should have. A lil bit of more real life working exposure would have been an icing on the cake
Never had a chance to get any placement, so can't really comment on that, and don't want to answer it on the basis of what other students think and have experienced. Last year, few students got good placement amounting upto 5-6 lakhs per annum, the business economics hons as usual was in lead.
The course cost near about 35k excluding other non college expenses as of conveyance and accommodation, the money been charged in comparison to other courses which cost around 10k-12k, the amount is quite high.
The campus life is quite boring, can't really find any interesting thing, the best is the ground, which provides good air and area to sit, the worst definitely the classes which needs a lot of more.
A very good infrastructure with all requirements. The main attraction is the huge library. There are a lot of places to hangout in college. And the Bru valii chai jaan h . A good canteen with full vegetarian food and snacks .A good package of good college which give you a memorable time.
I am pursuing B.A.(hns) Business Economics from shivaji college. The staff members are too cooperative. I must say , i feel very familiar with all the teachers. This course is totally a professional course which has also a placement opportunities i.e. it makes you a warrior of market who is ready to job.
Placements are too good in this college. I am pursuing BBE which has a lot of chances to get an average placement of 7-8 lacs /year which is quite good . I am also work in placement coordinator in placement cell of this college so i know that we try to support to get the placement. The highest package is 9 lacs to B.Com(Hns).
The academic fees of my course is only 12k per year which is nominal as per the study quality. The huge library, supportive teacher and environment of college make me feel that i get a very good college.
Shivaji college has a campus life which a student really wants. It is established near rajouri garden market which is the one of the most demanding place for a shopoholic. The momoz center near the college Ahhha.... I feel watery even writing about it. If a say about college life , its time must be my favourite .
collage structre is good . i have been to many colaages but shivaji had an very impressive infrastructure ,the builiding is very well maintained and the specailly are best with projectors in every class
teachers are very good they are very polite and ready to help very time. in my class there are many students from science stream so teacher gives them extra classes from there free time to cop up with all the commerce background students
as iam an 1st year student i didn't got any oppoutunty yet but my seniors got really good package from really reputed comapanies with average package of 3-4 lacks per year .with years going by more an more companies are coming
fees is more as compared to other collages but it value for money as we get more exposure as compared to other BBE collages of delhi university. it is totally value for money as it gives best facilities .
the campus is covered over 10 acres. The surroundings of college is very good. it has very beautiful park in middle of campus with beautiful flowerings. its sports ground is also very outstanding with all the equipments of sports
In comparison to DU standards, this college has really good infrastructure. All the relevant labs are in place and the library has a very good collection of academic and non academic books. The college is a NAAC accredited "A" grade. The football field is also FIFA accredited. One of the only two in Delhi/NCR. However the auditorium needs to be bigger since it does not accommodate all needs. In terms of hygiene it is like any other government college.
This is not specific to the college since the Bcom(Hons) syllabus and module is uniform throughout DU. The Bcom syllabus needs a massive upgrade as it is not commensurate with the current scope of work. Currently it is very theoretical, it needs more of a practical approach. Furthermore there needs to be more emphasis on apprenticeship/internship programmes than having theoretical classes for 3 years straight. It will not prepare you for jobs in the real world.
The placement of the college is very active. The placement cell works really well for the students. However there is a always a clash between the authorities and the placement cell. This may cause problems for the placement cell as a result of which there might be difficulties to get companies.
The total cost was around rupees 8000 per year so it was worth it just by basis of the fee.
Hi Subhi Agrawal,
The Shivaji College in Delhi University is pretty good for BA course. There are internship opportunities for students which are similar to final placement roles in order to get practical knowledge. Infrastructure wise, this college has a good campus with all facilities and hygiene. There are hostels available for students as well as teachers. The canteen seems to provide all kinds of food. The teachers are also very helpful and well knowledgeable. they teach theoretical as well as provide practical knowledge.
