SMIMS Gangtok Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

Exempting the locals and permanent residents, all undergraduate students can avail the hostel facility.The Hostel is a nine storied building with 200 furnished three seater rooms.The rooms has all the basic amenities that includes bed, mattress, a study table, a chair, a cupboard/shelf for each student. There is an attached toilet, service area and hot water facility. Along with that, the hostel has a dining hall with a modern kitchen and mess in the hostel building that provides vegetarian/non-vegetarian meals.

At present the hostels have a capacity to accommodate 300 girls students. The residential accommodation in hostels comprises of Double and Triple seaters . The accommodation available in the various hostels. The hostel provides a cot, mattress, study table, chair, book rack and wardrobe for each student. Every hostel has uninterrupted electricity, hot water facility during winter period, water cooler with Aquaguard filters, recreation hall, gymnasium and indoor games facilities.Furniture and electrical fittings are not to be removed from one room to another.

Being a medical  college, the campus has a Central Referral Hospital with 500 beds. The hospital is enabled with 21 specialties, 11 operation theatres, 2 minor operation theatres and high tech medical equipment.

The campus library is enabled with 18,727 text and reference books. Along with that, the library is subscribed to 185 e-Journals out of which 78 are National and 70 are International Journals. Internet and Medline facilities are available for students and faculties.

Ensuring the fitness of the students,  there are facilities for indoor and outdoor sports. Students can play Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Badminton and more. The campus also houses a modern Gymnasium. To add to it, the institute has its own cricket team.

The college has excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

Laboratories with high tech equipment as per the regulatory bodies are available in the campus labs. Along with that, there is a dissection hall with a capacity of 150 students to work simultaneously. Apart from that, there is a Molecular Lab with NABL Accreditation along with a well equipped Skill lab.
