SMIT Sikkim Facilities

Facilities and infrastructure play a key role in the student's life. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology campus facilities are a library, canteen, wifi, auditorium, hostel and more. SMIT Sikkim hostel facilities include a separate hostels for both boys and girls. The hostel rooms are spacious and have all the required facilities. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology library facilities include a large collection of books, journals, magazines, newspapers and many more.

SMIT sports facilities help students relieve academic stress and allow them to refresh their minds. The institute has a large playground to play outdoor games such as cricket, basketball, volleyball and many more. Each department of SMIT Sikkim has its own laboratory. Other SMIT Sikkim facilities are transportation, a health centre, a gym, a swimming pool and many more. Girls Hostel
SMIT hostel rooms are double bedded with attached toilet, comfortably-furnished and make for a good home away from home. Girls have separate blocks and each block has a fixed capacity.
Cot, ceiling fans, reading lights, mattress with cover, bed sheet, pillow & pillow covers, bucket & mug are provided free by the institute to first year students.
In this kind of accommodation, students have access to TV room ( Indoor for girls hostel & in amphitheater for boys hostels) , Water Coolers for RO fed cold and normal drinking water and other leisure/sports activities within the hostel premises. Also includes the following facilities:
24 x 7 Wi-Fi connectivity provided in all hostels
CCTV cameras at entrances of all hostels & at amphitheater.
24 x 7 electricity and water supply in all the hostels
Night cafeterias up to 1.00 AM
Solar panels installed in all hostels for hot water
Hostel attenders and housekeeping services are provided in all hostels during day and night
Laundry services.

The health centre in the campus is open 24*7. There are 5 beds, 2 resident doctors, 2 nurses and one medical attendance available at the health centre. For emergencies, the college also has two ambulances.
Gym
The institute has a well furnished indoor gym with all the latest equipment.
Library
Covering an area of 350 square feet, SMIT Sikkim library is a two storey building and the only library in Majitar, Rangpo region. The library has a rich collection of books, journals and research papers. Students can also get online journals at the library.
Sports
The college has ultra modern sports facilities. SMIT Sikkim has provision for both indoor and outdoor sports. Facilities for sports like cricket, football, swimming, aerobics etc. are available on the college premises.

Auditorium
There is a 24x7 Health center in the campus having 05 Beds, 02 Resident Doctors, 03 Nurses & a medical attendant. The medical team takes care of routine medical cases and emergency treatment. All cases requiring specialist opinion are referred to Central Referral Hospital, Gangtok. Two Ambulances are available at the campus for shifting of medical cases to CRH.
Transport Facility
The college also offers transportation facilities to its students and faculty members.
Alumni Associations
The SMIT Alumni Engagement Cell endeavours to create a close-knit network that allows its students to develop a lifelong bond with their alma mater. With an overall mission to connect, inform, and engage the alumni with the students and the Institute, the cell strives to generate multi-faceted support for SMIT.
It has been instrumental in organizing various events ranging from SMIT Alumni Meet, Workshops, Mentorship programs, Webinars and guest lectures by distinguished alumni on and off campus, along with the publishing of the alumni newsletter.
The Alumni Cell today has a global network of more than 5000 graduates from our alma mater and is growing at a fast pace each year. It is one of the most active alumni associations which operates through a network of national and international chapters. Some of the critical initiatives of Alumni Engagement Cell includes:
- To promote and foster mutually beneficial interaction between the Alumni and the present students of SMIT, and between the Alumni themselves.
- To encourage the Alumni to take an active and abiding interest in the work and progress of the Institute, helping them to contribute towards the enhancement of the social utility of their Alma Mater.
- Numerous Workshops, Mentorship programs, Events to allow maximum interaction between the alumni and its alma mater.
- Serves as a medium to strengthen connections between the students and the alumni in order to enhance both their personal and professional growth

College Infrastructure

College infrastructure is good as they were being available with the good level of facilities. Classrooms were good but not being sure of it as I had completed my study from distance only. But sometimes I go to college sometimes while giving exams then it's good at all.

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure is relatively good than other average colleges in india . As it is surrounded by mountains and Teesta river is like solution of your all problem . It is just behind the hostel . You can enjoy sightseeing from Marena(Food court).

College Infrastructure

I'm pursuing bca from their online program so the offline campus facilities are no use to me. But I've visited the campus once and I have to say that there is no such facility that isn't available on the campus

Hello,

The institute is situated in the river of the beautiful banks of Teesta. It is far from the city crowd. It has a most pleasant and peaceful environment for education. The placements are very good. Also the climate are pleasant. Mostly the winter attitude is present there all over the year. But rain has also come. Overall it is very much body soothing.
