The Sitarambhai Naranaji Patel Institute of Technology and Research Centre (SNPITRC) is one of the reputed engineering institutes of India located in Surat. The institute offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in almost all fields of engineering. A stringent admission system is put in place and worthy candidates are selected on the basis of performance in academics and entrance examinations such as the tests.

Generally, SNPITRC conducts admissions just before the academic year. Undergraduate admissions are more significant based on JEE Main scores. Postgraduate admissions are primarily based on GATE and Gujarat PGCET (Post Graduate Common Entrance Test). For undergraduate programs, candidates should have appeared in the examination of class 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Application Process

For SNPITRC, the admission procedure varies depending on the program:

For B.Tech programs:

1. Qualify JEE Main.
2. Register for the online admission mechanism as per the rules of Gujarat Government.
3. Fill in the online admission form.
4. Upload relevant documents like JEE Main scorecard, class 10 and class 12 mark sheets, and other relevant certificates.
5. Pay application fees.
6. Attend counseling according to JEE Main rank.

For M.Tech programs:

1. Qualify GATE or Gujarat PGCET.
2. Apply for the common process of admission of postgraduate engineering programmes in Gujarat.
3. Fill in the application form in the above-mentioned portal.
4. Upload the relevant documents including GATE/PGCET scorecard, graduation mark sheets, and others as required.
5. Pay the application fee.
6. Attend counseling according to GATE/PGCET rank.
7. If accepted, complete the admission process at SNPITRC.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Tech: SNPITRC has six B.Tech programs for an intake of about 540. The basis of entry is dependent on the merits of the JEE Main results. The programs are:

1. BE Civil Engineering (120 seats)
2. BE Electrical Engineering (120 seats)
3. BE Computer Science and Engineering (120 seats)
4. BE Mechanical Engineering (60 seats)
5. BE Chemical Engineering (60 seats)
6. BE Information Technology (60 seats)

Eligibility requires qualifying 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, as well as qualifying in the JEE Main examination.

M.Tech: Two M.Tech programs are also offered by the institute:

1. ME Production Engineering (24 seats);
2. ME Construction Engineering and Management (18 seats).

M.Tech admissions get admission through GATE scores or Gujarat PGCET scores. The requirement for eligibility is relevant B.E./B.Tech course.
