Sri Venkata Sai Institute of Dental Sciences, Mahabubnagar Admission Process

Sri Venkata Sai Institute of Dental Sciences, Mahabubnagar, an institute for dental education ranks among the eminent institutes in the state of Telangana, India. The institution is entitled to grant undergraduate (BDS) as well as postgraduate (MDS) degrees in several dental specializations. Admission into the Sri Venkata Sai Institute of Dental Sciences is typically a merit-based process that inevitably attracts many hopeful applicants to try their luck through guidelines set by the concerned authorities. Undergraduate admissions primarily consider NEET scores, that is National Entrance cum Eligibility Test scores obtained by applicants. NEET applications are usually required to be submitted before an examination that begins in February, with an actual test mostly taking place in May; and releases of results mostly occur by end June or early July. 

NEET MDS scores are mandatory for admission into postgraduate programs. NEET MDS application starts from February, with the examination commencing in March. The eligibility requirements for BDS admission simply state that a candidate must have been assessed in the Higher Secondary or 12th-grade examination with the core subjects being Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. For MDS programs, applicants must possess an accepted BDS degree from a university recognized by law. The home state is put under heavy consideration regarding admissions; 99% of the undergraduate and 96% of the postgraduate students are from that region.

Application Process

For BDS admissions:

  1. Qualify with the required NEET percentile
  2. Register for state-level counseling (as the institute is affiliated to the state university)
  3. Fulfill the application form during the counseling process
  4. Submit all relevant documents including NEET score card, 10+2 score sheets, domicile certificate (if applicable), and other certificates
  5. Attend counseling as per the schedule
  6. After seat allotment, confirm admission with the institute by way of document verification and fee payment

MDS Programs:

  1. Qualify with the required NEET MDS percentile
  2. Register for state-level or All India Quota counseling accordingly
  3. Complete the application form during the counseling process
  4. Submit all required documents including NEET MDS score card, BDS degree certificate and mark sheets, internship completion certificate and other certificates
  5. Attend counseling as per schedule
  6. After seat allotment, confirm admission with the institute by way of document verification and fee payment

Commonly required documents for BDS and MDS admissions will include:

  • NEET/NEET MDS score card
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets
  • Degree certificates (BDS for MDS applicants)
  • Transfer certificate
  • Migration certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent passport-sized photographs
  • Aadhar Card
  • Any other documents as specified by the institute or counseling authority.

Selection is almost entirely dependent upon the candidates' NEET/NEET MDS performance and consequent counseling rank attained from the institute. Reservations will be done as per both state and central government policies.

Degree-wise Admission Process

BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery): The sanctioned intake for BDS at Sri Venkata Sai Institute of Dental Sciences is 100 seats. Admission is granted on the basis of merit with NEET score being the prime test alongside the counseling process. Candidates must be 10+2 passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their main subjects. Candidates have to get a minimum qualifying percentile in the NEET as prescribed by the Dental Council of India.

MDS (Master in Dental Surgery): The institute maintains 8 MDS specialization courses, each of which admits 3-5 students:

  1. MDS in Periodontology (5 seats)
  2. MDS in Conservative Dentistry (5 seats)
  3. MDS in Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry (5 seats)
  4. MDS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (5 seats)
  5. MDS in Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge (5 seats)
  6. MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (5 seats)
  7. MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology (3 seats)
  8. MDS in Oral Medicine and Radiology (3 seats)

The admissions to MDS courses are based on the NEET MDS examination. The aspirants must have successfully completed their BDS degree from a recognized institute with the requisite NEET MDS qualifying percentile recognized by the Dental Council of India.
