The college has a Library of College serves the College staff as well as students. It supports the academic activities of the College. Patrons can use more than XXXXXX books and national journals. The Central Library has a Stack section, Periodicals section, Reference section, and Reading Hall. All students have open access to all sections of the Library. The Library uses 21 software. It consists of Acquisition, Cataloging, Circulation, and Serials control. By putting students first and by striving for excellence, we try to make a difference in everything we do. As an integrated service, we are able to combine the information provision skills of library staff with the technical expertise of IT staff together with the creative design and production expertise of publishing and digital media.
The college has a physics laboratory exam that will be held during one of the lab periods near the end of the Year. This exam is used to assess each student's ability to make accurate measurements with typical physics lab instruments, analyze and interpret empirical data, apply fundamental physics principles, design simple experiments, evaluate results, analyze measurement errors, and communicate findings clearly and concisely. In completing the exercises in this hands-on exam, students are permitted to use their lab manual, notes, textbook, calculator, and any other resources (except other students). Since this is an individual lab exam, each student should make a concerted effort to master the experimental physics techniques in all of the lab experiments performed throughout the Year. Many of the lab instructors provide special their student's preparation for the lab exam, and students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity by attending the preparation session led by their TA or another instructor for the same lab course. This St. Xavier's College contains video demonstrations for several of the experiments done in the Introductory Organic Laboratory Course. It is designed to help students visualize the experimental techniques as they are getting ready for their lab work. You will benefit most from this multimedia guide if you are simultaneously watching the videos while writing down the procedure for your lab work. Remember that the video clips are provided to help you prepare for the real lab - they are not a substitute for doing hands-on work under supervision in the lab. The St. Xavier's College instrumentation and techniques in chemistry through multiple-week laboratory projects. Students get experience with the use of advanced instrumentation, and in interpreting and analyzing the experimental results. Topics may include structural characterization with X-ray crystallography; materials analysis with scanning probe microscopes; polymer synthesis and characterization; synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials; computational chemistry to perform theoretical ab initio calculations and computer modeling of biomolecules.
The college has a computer lab, located on the second floor of the College Library, which offers a variety of adjacent spaces and services to support teaching & learning needs related to computing and media services. As part of the, general access computing is available with software licensed for students, faculty, and staff use. Advanced multimedia support with programming languages, scanners, MS Office, Photo editing, and poster printing is also available. St. Xavier's College also provides classroom space for software training, the Media Studios, and DesignLab consultation services. Equipment is available for check-out and the library offers a collection of computer manuals for self-directed learning. With over different labs across multiple campuses, we offer general and specialized facilities that support diverse college curricula. The Open Lab offers a wide variety of software for students. Other labs and computer classrooms are listed below. Computer Classrooms may be reserved by instructors.
