Suhas Institute of Technology, Pune, SIT institution is one of the leading ones providing excellent technical education to students in all the major streams of engineering at the diploma level. The admissions to Suhas Institute of Technology will be on the basis of academic calendar followed by Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education as it is an affiliated college.
The basic eligibility criteria for entry to SIT's diploma courses are the successful completion of 10th standard (SSC) or equivalent examination from any recognized board. The institute offers its diploma courses to students from science, commerce, and arts streams.
Application Process
Generally, for admissions to Maharashtra Diploma, the above general steps could be followed as a general norm generally:
1. Admissions Open: Normally, SIT gives advertisements relating to the opening of the admission process through its website and in local newspapers also.
2. Application Form: The applicant is required to collect and fill in the application form. This is available for downloading from the institute's website or can also be collected from the campus by visiting there personally.
3. Submission of documents: Candidates have to submit the following documents along with the filled application form
- Mark sheet and passing certificate of 10th standard
- School leaving certificate
- Caste certificate, if applicable
- Domicile certificate for candidates from Maharashtra
- Recent passport-size photographs
4. Application Fee: Application fee may be payable by candidates. Amount and mode of payment should be verified from the institute.
5. Entrance Exam: Depending on the state technical education board, entrance examination may be required by the applicants.
6. Merit List: Based on marks acquired in 10th standard and/or entrance exam marks, a merit list would probably be developed.
7. Counselling and Seat Allotment: The shortlisted candidates would be invited to the counselling process wherein seats would be allocated to the students on merit and preference.
8. Pay fee After the seat has been allotted to him, he should pay the requisite fee so that his admission is confirmed.

Degree Wise Admission Process
Diploma Programs :
The Suhas Institute of Technology has five full time diploma courses, which are totally different in the arena of engineering and the total sanctioned intake for this is 360 seats. This is as under:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: it is the largest intake with 120 seats. Mechanical systems, designing, and the manufacturing process forms the course.
- Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering: This course comprises 60 seats with topics like electronic circuits, communication systems, and signal processing.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering: It comprises 60 seats with electrical systems and their further power generation and distribution.
- Diploma in Computer Engineering: This course also comprises 60 seats with topics like computer hardware, software development, and networking.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering: It will offer 60 seats, and the course will be on structural designing, construction technology, and infrastructure development.
Admission to these diploma programs would thus be strictly on merit based on the 10th standard examination results and any state-level entrance tests involved, if applicable.
