Hi Vaibhav,
MIT USA website mentions that there is no minimum score for SAT for admission to their programs. But being the topmost university for UG education, the previous class profile reveals that the scores accepted are high.
There were 9,341 applicants with the score range of 750-800 and only 971 were selected.
Of the 2430 applicants with a score between 700-740, 3% were offered a seat i.e 77
The MIT link explains it all. http://mitadmissions.org/apply/process/stats
Hope this makes things clear to you.
DO revert if you have more questions.

Hello Aspirant!
The cut off for NTSE varies each year. So you will have to wait until the cut-offs areofficially announced. If your scores are equal to or more than the cut-off for GEN category, then you will be selected for the final merit list.
I think your score is not bad any maybe you apply for NTSE but you may know that they have even higher standard as you think they have higher. So my suggestion is that you may apply for it but also seek other option as your backup plan may help in future.
Good luck
