Admission is made into this program purely on merit-the marks scored in obtaining the qualifying exam and/or results from the entrance examination conducted. The selection procedure is in line with the policies laid out by the state government, U.T. Administration, and the affiliated university.
D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): The D.El.Ed course is a teacher-training program at a primary level of education given for two years. It has an intake of 50 students. Admission is based on similar criteria for merit as established for the B. Ed in terms of performance in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination.
The two programs strictly abide by the admission guidelines recommended by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), which is the governing body of approval of such institutes.
