Swami Vivekananda Institution for Teachers Training, Burdwan. The College provides two optional specialization of teacher training with special admissions policy as per the specifications of state government and university regulations. Admissions at Swami Vivekananda Institution for Teachers Training are completely on merit according to the marks score in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examinations. The guidelines laid down by the state government and university are fully followed regarding admission into the institution.  The admission to B.Ed. is merit based as per the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or equalization examinations. D.El.Ed. admission is also on merit basis in the entrance test and/or qualifying examination. 

Furthermore, the state government may outline other means of selection that the institution will strictly adhere to.Eligibility requirements for these courses are passing the applicable qualifying examinations. In general, the B.Ed. program will require a bachelor's degree or the equivalent for candidates, while the usual minimum qualification for D.El.Ed. entry is from 10+2 or its equivalent. D.El.Ed.: There are also 50 seats allocated for a two-year full-time program. Admission to this diploma will be similar to that of the B.Ed., focusing on merit in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test as prescribed by the policies of the state government.
