UIET Kanpur Facilities

Many facilities are offered to the students, faculty and staff of UIET Kanpur. University Institute of Engineering and Technology Kanpur facilities include accommodation facilities, medical facilities, cafeteria, auditorium, sports and many other facilities. The college provides separate hostels for boys and girls. The library of the college provides students with many academic resources to help them with their academics. University Institute of Engineering and Technology Kanpur facilities also include various sports infrastructure and a lecture hall complex. The college also has a cafeteria that provides healthy and nutritious meals to the students, faculty and staff. The auditorium is used for organising events and functions. The audio-visual facilities are provided in the auditorium. A health centre along with specialised doctors are present on campus. IT infrastructure is also part of UIET Kanpur campus facilities. The college also offers many other facilities like laboratories, guest rooms, banking facilities, etc. Details of UIET Kanpur facilities are given below.

Boys Hostel
The college provides accommodation for boys. All basic facilities are provided to the students. Laundry facilities are provided to the students. The hostels have furnished rooms and many other facilities. There are two boys’ hostels.
Girls Hostel
Hostels facilities are also provided to girls. Basic facilities like security, electricity, water supply, internet, etc are provided in the hostels. There are four girls’ hostels.
Medical/Hospital
UIET Kanpur has a health centre on campus and it caters to all medical needs of the students, faculty and staff. It has 10 beds and many other facilities like a 24-hour ambulance service. Specialist doctors are also present on campus.
Library
A central library is present on campus. The library has many academic resources like textbooks, reference books, journals, magazines, e-books, CDs, DVDs and other resources. Digital library facilities are provided by the college.
Sports
A stadium has been constructed by the college. It has facilities for many sports like 400 metres race, hammer throw, long jump, high jump, cricket tournament, football, hockey, basketball, handball, volleyball, tennis, kabaddi, kho-kho, etc. The annual intercollege athletics championship is organised in this stadium.
I.T Infrastructure
The college has the latest and modern IT infrastructure facilities.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria of the college provides healthy and tasty meals to the students, faculty and staff. The cafeteria is open 6 days a week.
Auditorium
The college auditorium is used by the students and faculty to conduct various activities and functions. It has the capacity to accommodate 1500 people.
Alumni Associations
The college has a good networking for alumni association.
Laboratories
The college provides many departmental laboratories to the students. These laboratories help the students in gaining practical knowledge and hands-on experience.
Banks/ATMs
Branches of Bank of Baroda and Union Bank of India are present on campus. ATMs facilities are also provided by the college.
Guest Room/Waiting Room
Guest rooms are provided for the accommodation of guests.

This institute is quite good in infrastructure,it has a huge and proper managed library and other facilities are also quite good in college,the area of building is properly managed in a way to make sure that there is no issue comes with anything in the future...

College Infrastructure

The campus is astonishing . Every thing is well maintained . Infrastructure is great . Free WiFi campus, smart boards and various facilities. It has well qualified faculty with an environment that encourages you to work hard . Library is open from 10 am go 9 pm . Aur conditioned library is there. Hostel is also good with neat and hygienic food quality.

College Infrastructure

Yeah there is all necessary infrastructure that a common student dream for. Class furniture are somewhere dull but every class is good. Library open from 10am to 9 pm. AC available in library. Hostel is good but nit in tge sense of food.

Hi Priyanshu !

DRDO recruits engineers through the following :

1)Through Gate/NET

2)Through apprenticeship

3)Through their own exam sometimes

4)Through direct interview for contract basis.

Every year RAC of DRDO recruits Scientists in DRDS mostly at entry level (Scientist 'B'). However, depending on the requirements in specialized areas of research & development, limited number of scientists are also recruited in higher grades (Scientist 'C' to Scientist 'H').

Qualifying GATE is mandatory eligibility for Recruitment in DRDO. Other than that, candidates also have to appear for a written descriptive test followed by a personal interview as a part of DRDO recruitment through the GATE 2021 procedure. Candidates will be allowed to work for DRDO only after qualifying for all the stages.

The elgibility criteria goes like this:

Essential Qualifications

At least first class Master's Degree in Science Subjects, Mathematics or Psychology or First Class Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology or Metallurgy from a recognised University or equivalent.
Experience of at least 3 years for Scientist 'C', 7 years for Scientist 'D', 10 years for Scientist 'E', 13 years for Scientist 'F' and 15 years for Scientist 'G'/Scientist 'H' in research/ design/ development or production in the required area.

Desirable qualifications

Knowledge of Chinese, French, German, Japanese or Russian
Doctorate degree in Science, Mathematics or Psychology or Master's degree in Engineering or Technology or Metallurgy in the subject concerned (applicable for Scientist 'C' & above).

Age Limit

For Scientist 'B': not exceeding 28 years
For Scientist 'C': not exceeding 35 years
For Scientist 'D' and Scientist 'E': not exceeding 45 years
For Scientist 'F' and 'G': not exceeding 50 years.
For Scientist 'H': not exceeding 54 years.

So,As you are now pursuing your B.tech in Metallurgical Engineering,it is recommended that you start preparing for the GATE and you must have the knowledge of the above mentioned languages.

After the completion of your degree,you can apply through the DRDO official website along with your GATE score.The short-listed applicants on the basis of their GATE score and other criteria have to appear for a written test and a personal interview (PI).
