The Vivekananda Teachers Training College, Malda has become a center in West Bengal for professionalizing future teachers. The only college approved by the NCTE is conducting a comprehensive admission procedure to select the most deserving candidates for admission to its teacher training courses.
The admission of Vivekananda Teachers Training College is based on merit as per the state government's policy and the university rules. Admission in both B.Ed and D.El.Ed programs is given on merit and based on performance in the qualifying exam and entrance test. This is done to select only the most suitably qualified and committed persons for the teaching profession.

Degree wise Admission Process
B. Ed.: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) at Vivekananda Teachers Training College, Malda has a duration of two years. The course is aimed at preparing students for a career in teaching. The admission process is merit-based where marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or the entrance examination are considered. The college has 100 seats for BEd. Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria established by the state government as well as the university concerned.
D.El.Ed: A Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is yet another 2-year course from the college where the intake capacity is 100 seats. The admission process for D.El.Ed also follows suit with the same merit-based approach in which the marks garnered in qualifying and/or entrance examinations are taken into account. The selection process will also follow that of the state government or UT administration.
