Dholpur-based VK Tyagi Teacher Training College was started in the year 2006 to provide the best teacher training facilities. This co-educational college placed under the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, has the mission of producing qualified teachers of the future. Located in a small area of 1.07 acres, the college admits students to two taught courses: primary education science and early childhood studies. VK Tyagi Teacher Training College offers two full-time courses in education: B.Ed. and D.Ed., and . a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.Ed.). The B.Ed. programme with an approved intake capacity of 100 seats is a two-year course that prepares the students to teach in secondary / higher secondary schools. The D.El.Ed. programme is also a two-year course admitting 50 students that is designed for training teachers for primary and upper primary classes. Both programmes are designed to enable the student to acquire both the theoretical knowledge and the practical teaching skills that will enable those who graduate with the facility to be well equipped for the teaching profession. The college as a whole takes 150 students across both courses, demonstrating a targeted approach to teacher preparation.

The admission criteria in VK Tyagi Teacher Training College mean that applicants should have good marks in the qualifying exam as well as entrance exam pass marks. The college strictly adheres to the admission policies right from the Rajasthan state government and university of Rajasthan.
