College is good compared to other engineering colleges

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

College is well equipped with all the infrastructure required. WiFi is there all over the campus ,smart boards are there .Labs are well equipped. Library is the best and beautiful . Altogether study room is also good. We feel happy to go there. There are separate study rooms for girls and boys. Girls hostel is pretty good. While the boys hostel is not at par .Boys hostel is somewhat dirty and no renovation is done.

    Academics

Curriculum is smoewhat updated but there is more impact on theory rather than practical. Quality of teching is moderate and it does not make the students job ready. No emphasize on individual development.

    Placements

Placements are decent but mostly IT companies came for the recruitment . Very less core companies came and few people placed there . Otherwise all other students place in IT companies ofcourse, there is no bad to be interdisciplinary

    Value for Money

Total amount goes to 135000 per year(curse of being in general category). I don't think it is value for money . But it is third best college in Maharashtra and it's getting its ranking higher and higher .

    Campus Life

Support is good from classmates and branchmates but support from other staff and college people is very less.

    Others

At the time of filling application for scholarship (punjabrao hostel scholarship). My income was below 8 lakh mark and I was applicable for the scholarship but the college clerk did not even accepted my application and talked in a rude language.I failed to get that only scholarship.

The journey in walchand till now has been amazing one

    College Infrastructure

Yes the college has enough equipments for all the students. Although some are old and can be replaced with newer versions. Some electronic instruments are damaged. Some times more students have to work on a single set.

    Academics

Most of the curriculum is descent although some subjects can be changed or modified. The teaching process is also very good. The syllabus is such that it prepares students well, but some new technologies can be introduced.

    Placements

Overall placement percentage has been really good. Although more core companies can be introduced in the future. The process is well planned and executed. Most of the students get a good placement as well.

    Value for Money

I feel like the money that we pay is worth is considering all the practicals that we do and also the extra materials and activities conducted by the college. The fees are around 85000 including all the charges.

    Campus Life

The college campus is pretty big and green and beautiful. Most of the things are available within the campus area. Also the newly built infrastructures are creating good environment. The whole students and teacher body are helpful to each other and mutual respect is also there.

    Others

Till now the college has met with and exceeded my expectations. I had amazing 3 years at college and am looking forward to next year as well. The teachers and all the students, seniors and batchmates and juniors have been kind to me. The syllabus and extra curricular activities have taught me a lot.

    College Infrastructure

Needs to be improved. WiFi is of best quality and perhaps this is the only thing which brings back students daily. Smart boards are a screen touch and this makes learning attractive. Drinking Water is big problem

    Academics

Needs to be improved. No project based is done here. Yes teachers are very supportive in terms of everything right from teaching to any other issue. Assignments need to be eliminated if India wants to become superpower.

    Placements

Best for coding students and if you are from core branch then it becomes difficult for you tk get above average package. But overall it is good as compared to other colleges. Mostly CSE and IT students grab the highest package.

    Value for Money

Definitely not. Because discrimination is done based on the round in which you are entered. If you are entered after 3rd CAP round you have to pay Full fees, then whatever your caste may be. But again much better than other colleges.

    Campus Life

College is having location where very few transports are available. If you are student who is from large distance (500Km) region then travel part will be difficult for you. College has Gymkhana but no trainer. Students come there in jeans, Formal shirt and start gymming. Gym equipment are damaged

    Others

After all its your money, your life I will recommend you if you are from near distance then go for it. But if you are from long distance this option is definitely not for you due to travel issue and much more.

    College Infrastructure

I am a final year student at Walchand College Of Engineering,Sangli. College has very big Infrastructure spread over 90 acres. All departments have separate building, labs and libraries. I witnessed recent renovation in all departments of the college such as new workshops, smart in TV classrooms and new gymnasium. Furthermore whole college premises has 24x7 WiFi connection with decent speed.College has separate hostels for diploma and degree students and separate mess for boys and girls.

    Academics

Walchand College is a government autonomous college in Maharashtra. It provides B.tech degrees in Computer Science,IT,Electronics,Mechanical,Electrical and Civil Engineering. Being a electronics engineer I found that academics is very much relevant with the higher studies like M.tech etc. College update its curriculum frequently in order to cope up with emerging technologies. College creates a strong base for its graduates in terms of both theoretical and practical knowledge.

    Placements

Placements in our college are top notch. In year 2018-19 about 83% of all graduating students got place in campus rounds. Moreover,Computer science and IT have 100% placements last year. Many of my friends got job letter and Internships in the summer vacations of their third year.Atlas Copco,Eaton,John Deere,L&T,LTI,TCS etc are some of the top recruiters in college. Highest package for last year was astonishing 37 LPA taken by Computer Science student.Average salary of Institute is around 4 LPA.

    Value for Money

Fees of ours college is around 85,500 for a general candidate and differs based on category. The detailed information can be found at college official website. The fees charged is for both the semesters of a year which includes Tuition fee,Development fee,University fee etc. I feel that fees is still relevant since college provides excellent infrastructure, experienced faculty, library, sport facility and medical care.

    Campus Life

College has a extensive 98 acres of campus full of greenery. Some of my favorite things about campus are It has a gym,a basketball, tennis and a indoor badminton court.A big playing ground for football and cricket is also available for students.Furthermore a LAN room,24x7 free WiFi is also provided. Many departmental clubs such as Rotaract,PACE,ELESA etc. are continuously helping students in all manner.I simply loves the peaceful environment at the college it makes us more confident and energetic.

    Others

I joined the college in 2017.It was first time I left home I was a shy and a bit nervous. I really like the peaceful environment at the campus and caring Seniors with a helping hand. Whole campus is delightful.I am proud to be Walcahndiate.

Have a question related to Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli ?

I am in kit institute in kolhapur pursuing my F.Y . btech in civil can I go to walchand college of engineering sangli in second year

    Hello there!!!

Transferring from KIT Institute to Walchand College of Engineering can turn out to be a good move if you are looking for an improvement in academic as well as professional perspectives. Below is a broad outline of how to do that:

    Eligibility and Process:

    • Check Eligibility: Each college has its specific criterion for transferring candidates. You should know that WCE has its specific requirements for transfer applicants, such as academic eligibility, available seats, or other special conditions for civil engineering students.
    • Contact the Admissions Office: Contact WCE's admissions office or academic coordinator to discuss your case. They can explain further the procedure and even give you a specific list of what documents will be required if there are any.
    • Prepare Documents: Generally, you would need to present a copy of your academic transcript, transfer application, and sometimes, letters of recommendation. Make sure that your documents are complete and ready for you to present in front of the people from WCE.
    • Credits Transfer: One thing you should consider in transferring is how your completed coursework will transfer. WCE will evaluate the credits completed to establish how many will count for your degree there.
    • Application Transfer: The application process for transfers into WCE may require filling out an application form and presenting other documents as well as possibly attending a meeting.
    • Decision and Admission: After applying, wait for WCE to respond with a decision. Thereafter, continue with their steps for enrollment and induction.

    Preparation and Thoughts:

    • Academic Record: Keep working hard to ensure that you have a sound academic record at KIT to upgrade your prospects of a smooth transfer
    • Reason for Transfer: Clearly define reasons for shifting places- whether it is due to better facilities or faculty, or any other reason.
    • Financial and Logistics: There may be financial or logistics concerns in connection with the move.

To obtain more personalized advice, you could visit both colleges' websites and speak to current students or alumni.

    Thankyou!
