Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur, is a well-regarded engineering college known for its quality education, experienced faculty, and good infrastructure. It offers strong placements and practical learning.
Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur, offers a strong academic curriculum with well-structured courses, experienced faculty, and a focus on practical learning. The institute emphasizes industry-relevant skills, research, and innovation. Regular assessments, workshops, and hands-on projects help students gain a solid technical foundation.
Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur, has a decent placement record, with many students securing jobs in reputed companies. The placement cell actively conducts training, mock interviews, and skill development programs. Core and IT companies visit the campus, offering roles in software development, manufacturing, and other engineering fields. Higher packages are mainly secured by students with strong technical and coding skills.
The college infrastructure is decent in some areas but lacks in others. The library is well-equipped with a good collection of books, providing valuable academic resources. Clean drinking water facilities are available, ensuring students have access to basic necessities. However, classrooms lack proper ventilation and modern furniture, making the learning environment less comfortable. Laboratories need better equipment for effective practical learning. One major drawback is the lack of proper sports facilities, limiting opportunities for physical activities and extracurricular development. Additionally, the campus requires improvements in digital infrastructure, including better Wi-Fi connectivity.
The academics at the college are average, with a structured curriculum but areas needing improvement. The faculty members have basic knowledge, but many lack extensive experience, which affects the depth of learning. The teaching approach focuses more on theoretical aspects rather than practical applications, limiting hands-on experience. Students are often forced to memorize concepts instead of understanding real-world applications. While the library has a good collection of books, laboratory facilities are outdated, further restricting practical learning. Overall, the academic environment needs a more balanced approach with better faculty training and practical exposure.
The placement scenario at the college is not very promising. Although the average package ranges from 4 to 5 LPA, very few companies actually visit the campus for recruitment. Most students have to find job opportunities on their own, as the college lacks strong industry connections. There is minimal support for internships, skill development, and career guidance, making it difficult for students to secure good placements. The training and placement cell needs to improve its efforts in bringing reputed companies and providing better job-oriented preparation. Overall, placements are weak and need significant improvement.
The college is not value for money, as the quality of education, infrastructure, and placements do not justify the fees. Despite charging high fees, the college frequently introduces new schemes to extract more money from students without providing any real benefits. The facilities are subpar, with poor sports infrastructure and outdated labs. Placements are weak, with very few companies visiting, forcing students to find jobs on their own. The faculty lacks experience, and the focus is more on theoretical learning rather than practical skills. Overall, the return on investment is very low, making it a poor choice financially.
Campus life is decent mainly because of the hostel experience, where students from different states and cities come together, allowing for good networking and friendships. As a hosteler, this provides opportunities to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, which can be beneficial in the long run. However, apart from hostel life, the overall campus environment lacks vibrancy. There are very few extracurricular activities, and sports facilities are inadequate. The campus does not have a lively atmosphere, and events are not well-organized. While the social aspect in hostels is strong, the college itself offers very little in terms of an engaging campus life.
The college has above average infrastructure. Contains a library, civil-mechanical building and main building. The college contains hostel along with mess and other facilities. Overall, an above average college to pursue engineering
Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur, offers good academics with semi-experienced faculty, well-equipped labs, and a structured curriculum. It provides a good balance of theory and practical learning.
WIT Solapur's placements are decent, with core and IT companies recruiting. However, cybersecurity roles are limited. Students need strong coding skills and projects to secure top offers in software fields.
WIT Solapur offers good value for money with reasonable fees, quality education, and decent placements. Good academics, infrastructure, and industry exposure make it a worthwhile investment for students.
WIT Solapur’s campus life is decent but not very lively. While there are clubs and events, extracurricular activities feel limited. Hostel facilities are average, and the overall environment could be more engaging.
The college promotes latest technology equipped labs on it's website, whereas the monitors and equipments have seen the better part of a decade. The college takes pride in it's library by promoting that it consists of the biggest collection of academic books where the truth is that books and articles are decade old and the ones that are upto date are not kept in adequate conditions and are barely in good shape.
The faculty is so old fashioned that the teachers are not current on today's technologies and upto date on languages. The teacher's have not the adequate amount of knowledge on the subjects they teach. The teachers when asked question about their subjects are left dumbstruck.
The college can promote it as a career ending stop in ones life. The college only is capable of being promoted as a degree providing shop as the student's have to work on their knowledge about subjects with getting zero help from the college and than they promote the placements of student's as their own success.
The college labs have not been updated to the latest technology for a long time. The keyboards, mouse and monitors have not been changed for more than a decade. The college cares only about its naac rating and makes the student body fill irrelevant forms and money that is of no use to us or the college itself.
The courses that the college provide has not been updated in a long time. Topics like 8086 microprocessor has not been relevant for many years but still they promote this in our subjects. Where many institutes promote ai and ml, our college promotes outdated technologies and outdated languages.
50 percent or more gets almost no offers and the ones that get offers do not earn more than 30,000. The college takes pride in placements which did not happen during the on-campus recruiting. They take all the credit in off-campus placements and promotes the students job offers as their doing and attract students to destroy their careers.
Our college campus is good. It consist of advanced laboratries, smart classroom, ground and many more facilities. It has two buildings. It has a a mechanical workshop. A central library which has much collection of books.
Our college course is good. Every year we learn and explore the programming language such as C, C++, Java, Python, Java advance, Java script etc etc. We have a coding club named as LOL coding club, which organizes many coding related challenges.
Placements are very average of our college. Highest package off campus is 18 LPA and in campus is 9 LPA and lowest package is 3.5 LPA. Our average package is 4 LPA. Many good comapnies doesn't visit our college.
The college infrastructure is well designed and thoughtfully maintained, offering a great environment for both academic and extracurricular pursuits. The campus is equipped with laboratories and lecture hall, ensuring that students have access to modern tools and technology.
The academics infrastructure at my college is robust and conducive to a quality learning experience. The classroom are spacious and equipped with projectors and high speed internet which enhance the learning process.
The college has a dedicated placement cell that organizes recruitment drives, workshops, and mock interviews, which significantly help students prepare for jobs market. Many companies from various sectors, including IT, finance, engineering and consulting visit the campus for recruitment.
It's per year fees is 1,15,000 for college and for hostel it is 30,000 per year. It is worth investing this much amount on engineering instead of wasting lakhs and lakhs on it. This college charge fees according to a middle class family.
There is no campus life in Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur because hostel for boys and girls are away from college campus. Even in college campus neither we have good canteen nor any other shop.
Classes are e-learning type, which means teachers teach on screens. There is no Wi-Fi for students, but the library is available. The hostel is also near from college. The hostel rooms are nice and clean, and the atmosphere and ambience of the hostels are good
The faculty is experienced in their core branch subjects. They teach in a friendly manner, similar to how a YouTube video would teach. Since it is an autonomous college. They give practical knowledge. The exam pattern is semester-wise, and the average is minimum 40%. The exams are taken by the college only.
The campus placement of students is excellent. The highest salary package is offered by top recruiting companies like BYJU'S, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd.,The cutoff for the CS branch in 2023 was 90%, and it increases by 1-2% every year. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Flipkart, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, and many startups.
Wi-fi is available only for the computers and they are connected via LAN. Classrooms are good for studying and they have separate buildings for libraries, so you can imagine their quality. The college also encourages sports and events and the mess and canteen are mediocre.
The syllabus is updated every year according to the need and all the staff members have completed their PHDs. Industry-ready can't be said as college provides the base but overall, a student has to develop his/her skills to be industry-ready. As the college is autonomous, the semester papers are neither too hard nor too easy.
Nearly 40–50% of students who improve skills on a regular basis are placed. The highest package is 15 LPA and the lowest package is 3.5 LPA. Capgemini, Infosys, Accenture, Flipkart, etc. are the top recruiters. It's compulsory for all students to do a 6-month internship in the final year and any student can pursue an internship with proper documentation any 2nd or 3rd year as well. Associate engineer, associate developer, testing team, etc. are the top roles offered.
College infrastructure is really great and hostels are also clean. The food at the hostel mess are also really good. Every Saturday or Sunday there is a special menu for the hostellers and the cleanliness around the hostel premises and the college premises also really good.
The faculties are highly educated and they help students a lot with the work. The projects faculties also are very helpful during the practical sessions and the exams are also really good. Exams are conducted on a very strict basis. No mal practices occur during this sessions.
Good number of placements are there every year. Infrastructure is also good and placements are very good. Every year many companies visit to college for placements. Many companies like Infosys, Jabil in Yantra visit for placements. It is good for as a view of placement is concerned.
